Not really. Gay people don't 'disagree with being straight' they are gay. In the same way that tall people don't 'disagree' with shortness. You can't agree or disagree with being gay its not a question.
I don't think that gay being 'normal' is the issue here. I don't think that anybody thinks that everybody should be gay. Its people who think that everybody should be straight that are the problem.
Gay people deserve the same respect, love and rights that everybody else has. We are all just people. Who decided there were rules to who we are allowed to love.

First of all this doesn't just happen in the GLBT community. This happens within races, religious beliefs etc. People defend their own. I agree with you about the name calling people put on others that don't like what they are, what they believe in etc. I am a lesbian. I personally don't get into the labeling of any person. I don't discriminate and therefore I think that those that do and are really negative about not having an open mind are IGNORANT and that is their problem. I am an atheist also, so I have heard it ten times as worse, to each her/his own. They don't pay my rent and so I have nothing to worry about. If you are secure with who you are, and your beliefs than being able to recognize Ignorance in people is a major step up from them. Peace!

Well maybe it's how you give your opinion. Most gay people I know (and I know a lot) don't thing there is anything wrong with being straight. Their just wish that people would stop treating them like they have some kind of sickness. Our sexuality is determined by the hormones our bodies produce. It is set in our genetic make-up when conceived. I think we all need to learn to respect and understand each other.

I think that what someone chooses to do in their bedroom is their own business. I have several friends who are gay, they don't "disagree" with being straight, they just aren't. I would rather spend time with someone who is gay than with someone who is intolerant. There are gay people who are active and very militant, but those are the minority. Just let people live their lives and keep your opinions to yourself.

People have different opinions about everything....no matter who you are.
My son is gay. He asked me recently, "why are there so many gays?" (showing, he doesn't understand either).
I do not judge, and my "faith" teaches love and acceptance.
Everyone has a duty to contribute in their own way....whether gay, straight, or other.
It was hard to understand at first....but we are to love, not judge or hate.

people generally tend to be abusive if you disagree with them, for it hurts their ego, you disturb their mindset and preconceived notions.
And as for us we have not reached that capacity of purity or intelligence to judge others or condemn others.Things we don't understand, we should feel sorry for our mental incapability and its limitations. We should be humble enough to ask for forgiveness, if we have been the source of hurt and pain to others.

As you dont have a rational argument for hurting them. They are like what we do to anyone ? nothing and yet they hurt ous and say we are bad for no reason...
