He does not want to share a cat box anymore. Get another cat box. Or he could have the start of a urinary tract problem. Cats like to be able to smell their scent. If she pees more than him it may be frustrating him.

Last year my beautiful Manx cat Theodore went out for the evening and never came back. I love cats and the house didn't feel the same without one, so I picked up Lola from a rescue centre. She was very frightened and would pee all over the house. I found Cat Spraying No More on the internet and the techniques worked almost immediately. I haven't had a problem with Lola since. Amazing!

Can't stop your cat peeing in the house? Then worry no more...

You can also try using a cedar litter or doing like I had to do one time and bringing in organic stuff from the outside...like sand, dirt, grass, a few leaves. My cat starting using it again mainly because I think he was intrigued with the notion of peeing on something unusual. Eventually, I switched back to an unscented litter (non-clumping) and just had to change it really often...and it was fine.

if you declawed him, he may be getting pre-mature arthritis and digging in the box hurts him. when you have multiple cats, get one box for each cat plus one. It may seem llike alot, but it encourages good litter habits. Try a different litter and make sure the area is free from unnatural oders like air fresheners. Cats hate weird smells. Also, when it comes to boxes, bigger is always better.

you would attempt scooping out the container two times an afternoon (or maybe 3 situations!). I once had a cat that refused to apply a muddle container if there become already something in it, so I basically had to scoop it out each and each and every time she used it. you may want to also attempt including a second muddle container, and/or transferring the container so that's over the spot the position she is interior the habit of peeing.

I agree with the previous person, first try another litter box. Cats can be finicky when it comes to dirty littler boxes.

Also, keep an eye out on his behavior. Watch for bahavior that is unusual (constantly licking himself, urinating wherever he can, decrease in eating). I had trouble with my kitty doing that and I thought it was behavioral, but it turned out he had a UTI and crystals in his bladder (which are fatal if not caught in time). If your cat's behavior persists, take him to the vet to get checked out. It's better safe than sorry.

Urinary medical problems can cause changes in litterbox habits. And if he's an agin boy cat - he certainly may have a medical problem. It's even more common in older boy cats.

Have him checked out by a vet.
