The only thing that has helped me my entire life get through hard time is reading and music. Without those two things I would have died long ago. Maybe not physically but certainly emotionally and spiritually.

The trick is not to indulge your feelings, not to dwell on the bad things - lets face it, the blow out was probably over something very trivial - all that will pass. The thing to do now is to do something positive - maybe call a friend you haven't spoken to for a while to catch up - or do a chore for somebody or do something that you need to do that you have been putting off. This will help take the attention away from your misery and in the process you could make someone else happy, which, in turn will make you happy.

Drinking and drugs never make anyone happy for very long. Try the simple things or do what I do and just go with it. I don't get blue often but when I do I tend to wallow in it as it is such a different thing for me.
Maybe I'm just a normally happy soul, but reading a good book, watching a good movie, talking with friends, or just writing down what I feel helps.

Ice cream and a romantic film so I can have a good cry and mope, get it out of the way and get on with making things better.
Also recommended is a walk in the pouring rain.. the kind that comes straight down without and wind to slam it in your face.

When times are rough, the first thing I tell myself is that what ever bad that happened to me happened for the better and next I go and get myself lots of romance novels to read (easy to read and you can let your mind wander at the same time). But I don't know how it will help whenyou have man trouble.
I also go to sleep and dream of better times...:))
I write out my troubles on a piece of paper and tear it up. I once burnt it up and it gave me immense satisfaction. :))
Good luck.

My friends, my family. Taking time away to read a good book, or watching something on Comedy Central might help too. If you have pets, play with them (that does an amazing job sometimes). Get on the computer and answer people's silly little questions, that might help too :)

I was married 12 yrs and recently my husband told me it was all a lie. He didn't love me and to get out of his life.
So.. happiness is based on happenings. Bad things happen and make us unhappy.
But... Now joy, is something that you can find in the littlest ways. A funny joke, movie, a child, food,a friend, a good book, the Bible.
If... you are a christian and have God in your heart, you have Joy and no one can take that a way.
As the song says... I have joy, joy,joy down in my heart ,down in my heart, down in my heart to stay.
After my husbands bombshell, that song popped in my head and whenever I get unhappy I sing that song.
My added word on the end of the song is, and no jerk can take it away.
God put Joy in our hearts and no Man {or Woman} can take it away.
Good luck and God Bless.

I usually go outside and realize how much is alive and well no matter what I do.
I just start looking around at everything and see the amount of things that live all around me.
Just try to see how many things live no matter what you do and realize the immensity of it all.

Do something for someone - making someone else happy can make you feel good and takes your mind off your own problems. And if you believe in karma - what goes around, comes around.
