My twin boys are named Jared Hadley and Derek James. The middle names are family names, and the first names kinda rhyme: Jared and Derek. Also, after naming them, I discovered that they mean the same thing in different languages!

From what I've been told by twins I know is they hate having rhyming names. They are born with a built in identity crisis and cutesy sound a like names are one thing for toddlers but for teens and adults it's just embarrassing.

i would recommend having the middle names rhyme that way they have the option to use them as nicknames if they want but still have their own identity
besides you will find you end up calling them by the siblings name if they rhyme... i do that now with my boys...
and mine aren't twins lol
8 & 4
we all have nicknames or "pet" names my hubby likes to call us & we all use them... but a lot of times you'll say one name and mean another... even when using their real names
the brain works in odd ways
just pick a name with a good meaning behind it .. something they can live with and grow into

Michael and Matthew.. they don't rhyme, but go together nicely. Both from the bible too if you like having a religious connection. Good luck, I'm sure whatever names you choose will be the perfect ones.

In my native custom, twins are named depending on the order of birth..the names don't actually have to rhime...try this Opiyo & Odongo for boys and Apiyo and Adongo for twin gals. the first name for first born and the latter for the last born.
This is a little traditional , but works for us here
