If i turn a tape into a cd can i convert the cd into mp3's?

I am thinking about purchasing a tape to cd convertr but b4 i invest i want to know if ican convert the cds into mp3s

just download iTunes to your pc and convert away.
P.S defualt settings is AAC so you need to change to MP3
