Welcome to my world-- you have eye floaters. Most people have some small ones from birth, but for a few of us, we get larger more disrupted ones in adulthood......

Unfortunately, there is no safe way of eliminating them, but by most accounts, because of changes in the viscosity of the vitreous fluid in the eye, they tend to sink away from view in your 50s. If you want more info-- let me know. I've been dealing with two giant ones since my mid 30s.

Sometimes it can be a sign of a eye disease, but I have never had any eye problems and don't wear glasses even though it's been going on for more than 10 years. It is very common and is because your eyeball is filled with a jelly-like material called vitreous. Sometimes, for no known reason, clumps form within this vitreous. When they drift into view, you see these "floaters." You may also see little flashes of light, specks, squiggles, or "cobwebs."

If you are worred that it is a disease, diagnosing these conditions is relatively easy: your health care provider or eye doctor will put drops into your eyes to dilate the pupils, and then use a lighted scope to peer into your eyes. This will allow the provider to diagnose most of the serious causes for floaters. Probably they will say nothing is wrong and tell you it's floaters

Does it hurts? If you see that cell all the time you should go and see a doctor. There are moments when you see strange things like black spot, lights, lines. Even I experience these strange phenomenas because the eye is trying to adapted in the conditions where it is and sometimes the mind is playing tricks.

Try visiting an optician, however there is something in alot of people eyes called a floater which moves and appears like a shadow sometimes when you look at something. It is not dangerous, but things such as these require that you visit a professional.

Have you seen an opthalmologist? What you are describing is "floaters". Are you also seeing light flashes in your peripheral vision? This can be serious, though not often. You really should go to an eye doctor.

Could be just dust or something on your eye. However, if it's been visible for years, without interruption, you would do well to visit an eye specialist to make sure.

These are called floaters, and generally they are harmless. However, if you see flashes of light, or vision changes, check with an eye doctor.
