I had a bridal shop and would have my gowns that had some cleaning done as soon as possible. It is worth it to make sure any dirt is removed. Depending on the gown you can press the gown at home anytime.
Most gowns can even be put in the washing machine and washed on the delicate cycle. That is true. Just make sure that the beading is secure and not glued. Most of the gowns that you get from Brides Against Breast Cancer are top quality gowns from designers that use real stones on the gowns.
Check with your dry cleaner and see if you are required to sign a waver for damages. I have a hard time working with those cleaners. I have even sent one gown to my preservation company to clean and then I sent the gown back again to have it preserved.
For gowns that are from the factory without blemish give it two weeks but all others no time like the present.
You should be able to cool iron press your dress a few days before your wedding to freshen up your gown.
Good luck and blessings on your marriage.

It kind of depends on the fabric because different fabrics act in different ways. Something light like a chiffon or silk will have no problems staying wrinlkle-free so long as you keep it hung up after pressing. Heavier fabrics like satins or taffettas like wrinkles very, VERY much so you should get it pressed as close to d-day as you feel comfy. Something you can always do before you get dressed for the ceremony is to hang the dress up in you bathroom, turn on your shower to nuclear hot water, close the door ( and shower curtain), and block the bottom. Leave it in there for about an hour or two; the heat and steam will knock out any other little wrinkles that might have creeped onto the dress since it was pressed (it will also make your dress kind of warm and snuggly for your October date). Just make sure it is as far away from the shower and backspray water as possible.
Congrats and good luck!!

before each and every thing Congratulation on your engagement. changes on a wedding ceremony dress can value some $$$. once you may want to take the gown in extra then 2 gown sizes that is going to thoroughly adjust the variety of the gown. I comprehend that you want to regulate the seem even if it would not finally end up to be what you want. i'd purchase a sparkling one. David's Bridal has an concepts-blowing determination value starting from $299-$1200. I artwork as a wedding ceremony representative there so once you've any questions please ask.

I would do it as soon as possible. Have it clean and ready in case you need any alterations. That way its all taken care of, gives you one less thing to worry about. Gives you more time to iron out other details of the wedding!
Good luck and Congrats!

Hey, that's my wedding day too. I am going to take mine to get it pressed two weeks prior to the wedding, therefore, they will have time to do it and it won't wrinkle before the big day. Congrats!

Drop it at the cleaners or the dress place at least two weeks in advanced. . . Ask them if they can hold your dress until the day before, there is a lot less chance it will wrinkle this way.

The week of your wedding, have your dress pressed and prepared....usually it's all wrapped up and hanging just so....keep it that way until the day of the wedding when you put it on....and congratulations!!

I'd wait about two weeks before the wedding. That way you don't have to worry about getting it late because you still have two weeks. Also, if anything is wrong with it, you will be able to get it fixed. Congrats!!!

It depends. If you're going to be very busy in the days leading up to your wedding, I'd do it now and safely store it away. It would be one less thing to worry about
