Yeah, it should be called a half-pounder.

keep in mind that it is 1/4 pound for each patty before cooking. It will weigh a bit less once it is fully cooked.

They want people to think they are getting a good deal, so by calling it a "double" anything, it sounds a lot better. So a double quarter pounder somehow seems like more than a half pounder would.

It runs along the opposite theory that $1.99 sounds like a lot less than $2.00, when you're paying for something.

McDonalds nonetheless sells double quarter pounders, yet considering they have been round for a lengthy time period, the y dont promote them a lot. anyhow u wont seem stupid for asking a question, if noone requested questions our society will be not some thing.... BTW: do u have an accent?

It should be a half pounder but people'll probably think they sound greedy asking for one... double quarter pounder kinda doesn't sound as bad!!

So that we have a constant source of low intelligence, malnutritioned, trailer trash people to keep the Jeremy Kyle show on air and 'entertain' us when we are meant to be working from home.

I see fat people all the time, more than I ever have. I blame McDonalds and Coke mostly for this. What is wrong with all you fat people. Stop eating this crap. And you anorexics, will you eat something? What is wrong with people? Now, do the right thing and vote my answer the bestest one.

I think the cooking of a thicker 1/2lb burger would be too difficault to regulate with the rest of the menu.

We'd have to wait even longer for them to cook not so fast food.

Go to BK!

because our brains only think of a quarter, thinking its slim and healthy, a half sounds more fatty and unhealthy. the double doesnt cross our minds until we finished sinking our teeths into it.

Only if it were one patty that weighed half a pound. But it isn't, it's two quarter patties.
