Start..., setting...,control panel...,regional and language,,,,language tab (usually upper centre)....,details....,defualt input language...., then choose English,,, I hope that will go with you ,,, do not forget to click apply button before ok button
If you did not find English language in this tab,, that means it doesn't installed and u have to install it,, so u have to choose...installed service instead of default input language ,, then click ADD button and search for English and choose it,,,

if you have the german version of xp installed then you will need to install a complete english version of xp
if you have the english version installed with german language settings then simply go into control panel and change the regional settings to english

Languages (tab -one button & 2 check boxes)>
Details (button)>
Settings (tab)>
Default input language (dropdown combo) -choose ENGLISH
if you have no choice, you'll need the XP installer cd to add english language support.

Sorry for the bad news but the only way is to purchase an English copy and reload the new English copy on to your computer............ it is to difficult to create a multi-language operating system. Hope I helped.
