SAP is the name of a company which produces software

Essentially the software is a set of modules for a complete company-wide computer system and use a database system such as Oracle or SQL Server. A customer will choose (or hve selected) the modules appropriate for their company and then have them customised by a SAP programmer for their specific circumstances

Incidentally, SAP is for large corporate customers - don;t even consider SAP if you don't have at least US$1 million spare plus cash for all the hardware, databases, admin and development staff etc

sap is an anagram for secondary audio program. it is used widely to provide bilingual support to television receivers. for instance, in a program originating in english, the sap may carry a separate track for those who speak spanish. there are other uses, as well, such as a track carrying weather conditions.
