if they had no idea you were a vegetarian?

Would you accept it, or is there a kind way to not take it?

This happened to me and I took it and ate it, and now I feel bad.

That was awfully kind of you. However, for the sake of your health, inform your friends that you are a vegetarian before attending a dinner, party, etc... where they will be serving meat.

There is no way I would accept it, even if that person had been slaving in a hot kitchen all day long. I can't imagine why someone would be cooking for me if they didn't know me well enough to know I was a vegan, but if that were the case, I'd simply say, "I'm sorry, but I'm a vegan and I don't eat meat or any animal products. Thank you for your kindness, but I'm afraid I can't eat what you cooked."

I would thank them for their kind efforts. Instead of going against my personal beliefs and consuming the meat, I would take it home to a non-vegetarian loved one. Say something along the lines of "wow, that looks delicious, but I'm vegetarian. Could I have a box to take it home for my mom? I know she'd love it!" That way, everyone wins!<3

Get over it. Spare the guy's feelings days later from now; tell him you're now adopting a vegetarian diet for personal/health reasons. OK...it's a shade of a white lie perhaps, but you can get over that too--and who knows: you might even have him adopt the same diet.

From there, you both can munch away guilt free for maybe a nice life together. Don't sweat this: it'll be our little secret.

Wow; what a position to be put in! I think I would have thanked them, told them what a lovely gesture it was, apologized, and told them I was a vegetarian. Maybe say how wonderful the side dishes look and stick to them. As incredibly difficult as that would be, at least they would know for next time... depending on who it is, they would probably feel guilty for making you compromise your beliefs. Take Care :)

In those form of issues, i wouldn't in any respect commerce places with all people. I easily have a peace that passes all my information, for surely i do no longer "sound" as though I easily have inner peace. i'm grateful for those products, for in them God is development me up. If I have been completely non violent approximately the place and who i'm, i think i might then be interior the worst a threat problem a guy may be in...spiritually conversing, it quite is all that particularly concerns in this life. i don't eat pork and other 'unclean' meats, as well as certain seafood, refined sugars and processed foods.

however, when i'm a guest somewhere and they spend a lot of time making something for me, i try to be gracious. i actually pray to God about it, ask him to cover it and thank him for the food the people made for me - and then eat it in faith.

don't stress about eating the meat. next time you can tell the person beforehand that you actually don't eat meat. but the scenario you described should not make you feel bad. it won't hurt you; worrying about it is worse for your body than actually eating it.

I just put a small amount on my plate along with the other foods and don't eat what I don't like. I hate when that happens.
Most the time they never notice what you have or haven't ate.
