I agree with the answer to go away for the night if you can, but if the budget says impossible then find someplace for the kiddies if you have them and create a sexy romantic dinner at home.

Lots of stores now carry beautiful flowers inexpensively - get as many as you can afford and place them all over the house. If she loves chocolate - get her some of her favorite or better yet, plan on dipping strawberries in chocolate and feeding them to each other for dessert after dinner or later after making love. Light scented candles all over. Either have dinner brought in or plan a romantic dinner to make together. Grill some shrimp and steaks if you like that, or do something like salmon. Even pasta can be sexy if you make it together. Champagne or wine with strawberries slices floating in the glass can be oh so romantic. Or try raspberries.

After dinner, take a hot shower together and do a salt scrub on each other, then wrap up in robes or towels and move to the bedroom and give each other full body massages by candle light with romantic music playing in the background. Let things progress to....mmmmmmmmm.

After you recover from the above - you might want to curl up and watch your favorite movie together as you enjoy your favorite snack and when revived......repeat the mmmmmmmmm. from above.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY - enjoy!!

Pack 2 baskets. The first has a nice picnic lunch with strawberries, champagne, chocolate, sandwiches and her favorite finger foods.

The second one has "special" things from a spa or a place like Bath and Body Works. Get some delicious Henri Bendel candles (Quince is very romantic), aromatherapy massage oil (lemon), body lotions, bubble bath, a loofah, etc. Then some "toys" of the marital variety.

Tell her to pack for the night, but don't tell her where you're going. Have reservations waiting at a small hotel or B&B somewhere she'd like to go. If you're anywhere near Chicago, the Drake Hotel runs great specials during the week and is the most magnificent hotel you'll see in this country.

Then take her away for a night and do all the romantic things you loved when you were younger. Walk on the beach and have a picnic dinner in the moonlight. Massage her feet and hands. Take her for a walk in the park as the sun rises. Window shop and kibbitz about what you might like for Christmas. Have the hotel set up a manicure for her. Let the concierge get tickets to a play or a ballet or a comedy club (they can often get tix even to sold out shows).

Whatever your budget is, you could make this work. It's about you pampering her and letting her know that you love her and appreciate her. The picnic baskets just come in so handy because they're easily refilled and used for little romantic get aways all year long.

Go to Dave and Busters.....that way you dont have to worry about having dinner in a stuffy place and wearing uncomfortable clothes. Just throw on some jeans and a t-shirt and take off. They have great food, a pleasent dining atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Then of course you go into the arcade and its great fun. Have a few laughs and a few drinks then call it a night early for some more fun. Happy anniversary.

Rent a movie and stay the night in! Make her some dinner, open a bottle of wine or champagne (there are prices for all budgets). Just relax and have the evening to yourselves!

If you have kids..maybe a relative wouldn't mind having them spend the night?

Congratulations!

Send the kids to a sitter (if you have children)..serve grilled chicken, salad and a potato. Buy some massage oil and give each other nice massages. draw a warm bubble bath both of you hop in. spend the night just the 2 of you.

A nice sexy picnic in a beautiful park near the water. A picnic that you prepare of course to make it extra special.
