this is what you need to do to save her and those pups or you could end up loosing her and bottle feeding those little pups every two hours, thats even if they make it . they are probably starving its soooooo important that they get enough milk and because the mum is still panting she could have another pup inside her, you need to see the vet urgently if its not to late he can give her an injection to help push whatever is in there out, she could be to tired and doesnt have the energy to do it herself, it could even be a retained afterbirth. have you got any glucose?? put a couple of table spoons in her dish and put water in it and make her drink it even put some into a syringe and drip it onto her tongue and gums . it will give her a little energy and keep her hydrated. if the pups are crying constantly or floppy and weak then they need the vet now! they are depending on you. i wish you all the very best with your pups , i had to feed 7 pups because my dog didnt have enough milk if you need support email me anytime k

First of all, why post a qustion if you know people are just going to say, TAKE HER TO THE VET!!!!????
What kind of dog is it? Heck, if i had 7 kids I'd be the same way. If it's her first litter, she's scared, and thats way to many puppies for one dog to handle, take the puppies away every know and then and let her feed some at a time. She might have done something to her stomach will having the puppies, especillay if she's a small dog. ANd if she was breed with a bigger dog, that could kill her. SHe might sense something is wrong.
If I were you, I would take her to the vet as soon as I knew something was wrong, if you love her more than anything, or really love her, take her to the vet.

Do you have the mother on puppy food? If not feed her puppy food, but not a grocery store brand puppy food because it's all crap without nutrition, go to a pet store get Wellness Puppy or something that is really healthy in puppy formula, no cans. Feed her that as much as she wants because what happens when the mother is preggie, all her nutrition goes to the pups. She needs to fatten up so she can fatten up the pups and they could be healthy. Also, change of diet to puppy food will make her want to eat. She might have diarrhea if you don't slowly mix it, but at least she'll be eating. If she doesn't drink, make her some chicken broth, it'll give her a different taste just make sure it's room temperature. Hope that helps.

Is it her first litter she's ever had? If so, than her actions are normal. She isn't used to puppies needing her, she is confused, that's why she keeps whimpering and going back and forwards between rooms.
Also, quite a lot of dogs don't want to feed their pups.
All you've got to do is make sure she does whenever the puppies want milk.
If she gets really skinny, with bones sticking out, DON"T PANIC! It's just the puppies are taking all her nutrition, all you've got to do is feed her more nutritious food. if she still doesn't gain wait, it's ok.
Wait until all the puppies have been sold, (at around 7-8 weeks old) and then take her to the vets for a check over. Just to make sure.

Good Luck,
Alison

Honestly I would take the mother for a general check up with your vet. She is probably dehydrated and not eating from exhaustion. As for the puppies I would invest in a puppy bottle and puppy milk and feed them by hand. I had to do this recently, less than seven weeks ago. The mother was not prepared to have the puppies and we were not aware that she was in heat until it was too late. Unfortunately we lost two of the puppies but the others are fine. Feed the puppies every two to three hours to start with, then you can gradually increase the time in between feedings. I would suggest getting the powdered form of the formula since you have so many puppies to take care of. I know that Wal-Mart carries the pre-mixed and powdered formulas for puppies.

Young bitches don't always know what to do. You should have her in an area where you are most of the time and should be watching to make sure she doesn't lie on or eat one of the puppies. As for her not wanting to eat and drink that's a problem. The bitches are normally ravenous after whelping and always thirsty. How long since she whelped? If it's been a like a day or so I would most certainly have her looked at by a vet as it's possible she didn't have all the puppies and one could still be dead inside her. We had this happen once and almost lost the female, they had to do emergency surgery. That's why only people who know what they are doing should let their dogs have pups. (We all have to start somewhere I know but if you aren't breeding to improve the breed, and breeding as close to the standard as possible then you shouldn't be doing it.)

If an animal isn't eating, ALWAYS take them to a vet. She might have injured herself having the puppies or have a disease or maybe some internal bleeding. Also, she might have mastitis, which is when the teats get so engorged with milk that it is very painfull for the mother to feed her puppies.

hi, It sounds like she has some sort of infection that might be starting. After she had her pups did all of the after birth come out? Get her to a vet asap! She might be in some sort of pain, dogs will come to you for help when they are. Good luck, hope everything is fine.

Sorry to hear about your dog The chances of the Vet mistaking it for another dog is not very likely. If that was you mean because I didnt really understand your question

She and the puppies need to go to the vet as soon as you can get them there. She is showing sign of something serious going on.
