In addition, noone seemed to mention the population of Illegal Immigrants who were brought to the US as a child. What about them? They are about as American as the next citizen. Should they suffer the same fate as their parents?

i think that if they come here to the u.sa to WORK, so their families can be better then i say its okay, but if they come here to break rules and do other stuff than WORK then i think its bad. I think that illegal immigrants that actually want to succeed and that want to work because they want better for them or their families, i think that is okay and i think that they should be legal in the U.S.
PLUS take a look on the other side, the illegal immigrants are the only ones that work hard, so imagine if they all left, who would build your homes? who would mow the lawn for a tiny amount of money? american people? i dont think so. american people will not work as much for a tiny amount of money, and they will not work all day long, immigrants will because they need the money, so they will work as long as you tell them to work and they will do whatever you tell them to do. So, U.S.A without immigrants would be really poor, because immigrants eat and they purchase stuff in the U.S so they invest in the us. they buy cars, they buy gas, they buy food and they pay for the rent, and there are over 15 million immigrants in the U.S imagine if they all left, then the goverment would not have a lot of money, because believe it or not thanks to the immigrants there are more homes built every day, more mowed lawns and there are more buildings.

There's not much you can do because they've broken the law; and the government will most likely send them back to wherever the came from. Then when they go back into their own country they'll probably be charged by their government for treason, or illegal conduct. Therefore there's not much you can do once they've entered the states.

People please don't say "****" like they've broken the law when they first come in to the states so therefore send them back for breaking the law. What about the criminals that have broken the laws in the US and have gone elsewhere to find freedom? So why then is it different? People need to open their eyes, and realize rather than judge base on what you assume! Damn read the papers once in a while and watch the news. Think about it, who is the one hiring illegals? GREEDY AMERICANS that's who. Why are the jobs going to illegals? TOO PROUD AMERICANS that's why, because you're too proud to do the so called "degrading job." When you become less proud to do the dirty jobs then you have a rights to say they stole your job.

Basically I just want to say get your head out of your *** before you judge others. And make sure you're pointing your finger at the right person, and last but not least. WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE!? And don't give me that crap about "I'm proud to be an american that's why I can say all this crap." If you're so damn proud to be an american then get your lazy *** up, and stop complaining and get a job, or hell go fight the war in IRAQ! that's an american right there. HAHAHAHAH

First of all not every illegal immigrant is "hard" working. The media made it sound like if the illigal immigrants dont work America will be in Depression. Look at the other side of it, there are many criminals in American jails, for crimes from theft to rape, and murder. We pay for them to stay in jails. There are many illigal immigrants that have legal driving privilages, and in the other hand government wants to arrest the employers and the illigal immigrants. I just dont get it, if they cant work how they gonna live? Im sure they wont go back specially those who have benn in USA for the last 3 decades, government will make them commit crimes victimizing innocent people. Its a tough question, and it will get worse if nothing is done about it.

Illegal immigrants need to go home and work hard to get the proper authorization to come to the U.S.A. to work. If you begin your life in a country by breaking the law, you have no intention to become a good citizen. Do it right, or don't do it.

Mexico would not put up with U.S. citizens doing there what Mexican citizens are doing here, would they? No. We should not do so, either.

In my opinion if they are willing to do the work, which the citizens does not want to do, because of some reasons. It is reasonable to import labor force from abroad on legally bases.

If the laws are not too complicated the illegal immigrants will be legalized and will start paying taxes and live like others.

I believe that the hard working immigrants who want to become citizens should contact the INS and see what the INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service) can do to help them become citizens. It may involve going back for a time and then coming in legally but the INS should have a program to help with that.

I immigrated here LEGALLY.... I also served in our military..... and I pay taxes, obey the laws of the land and try to be a positive addition to society. Why can't others do the same? I have family that waited up to 10 years to come here legally. Why can't others do the same? I say send the illegals back. I'll continue to mow my own lawn, clean my own toilets, take my kids to licensed day care providers, and I'm even willing to pay an extra 25c for a head of lettuce. As far as all those "dirty" jobs.... I say we take all those homeless/ jobless American citizens and MAKE them do that work (for a fair wage)..... if they don't want to.... then they can say goodbye to their social services benefits.

The only thing WE should do is enforce our laws regarding immigration and deport them. And, if we have to deport them, then they should NEVER be able to return again because they have already demonstrated that they have NO respect for our laws by entering the country illegally. If they leave NOW on their own steam without our having to go to the trouble and expense of deporting them, then they should have the right to apply through the legal procedures, wait their turn, and eventually return LEGALLY.

I think they need to go back and do it right. And when they do, they need to love this country as if they were born here. You can't say oh well, your lazy- bye , and your hard working so you can stay. That is not how laws work. They apply to everybody. You can not reward a broken law, no matter how nice the person might be. What they did was wrong and illegal and they need to admit that and correct the wrong.

If they been here for more the 5 years then they can apply for residence. I disagree with any one who says they should be sent back because most immagrants di the work that many people dnt like doing so if there gone many buisnesses would be closed, and if it were ya'll being an immigrant y'all wouldn't want to be deported back to were u came from. I definitely disagree with the first person who answered this question . [No offence]
