He was probably nervous and forgot you were a veggie. Why don't you just gently remind him...at least he tried, tha's more than some men!!

Yes you should - I'm a veggie too and firstly if he's your new man he should be paying extra special attention to what you say so he should have remembered, and secondly he should have pushed the boat out a bit more and taken you out for a meal instead of buying a cheap supermarket pizza. Not a good sign. It seems as if he really fancied a chicken pizza and isn't caring if you like it or not. Get rid of immediately!

I am a red blooded carnivore and if my man treated me to a asda chicken pizza on our first meal I'd walk.

I think a lot of people associate vegetarians with people who just don't eat red meat. I have a friend who's vegetarian, but she eats turkey and chicken occasionally. Maybe just let him know what kind of vegetarian you are. There are several different kinds, maybe he got a little confused! Of course the only things that should be on a pizza, in my humble opinion are sauce, cheese, veggies and sausage! chicken just doesn't sound good on pizza!

Yes. Tell it was a nice idea but being a vegetarian means NO ANIMALS. There are so many non-veggies that think chicken is alright. But just explain in a way that doesn't hurt his feelings and makes him understand that it can upset you.

When I was in America a few years back, the yanks couldn't understand the concept of vegetarian. When I asked for an alternative to meat, I used to get, "Well chicken isn't meat!". Maybe your new man is thinking along the same lines! It's only fair, however, that you make it known to him. If he wasn't doing out of spite, he'll probably be mortified to know he's upset you, especially if it's the start of your romance. Try telling him gently. As for a ready meal from ASDA, well than's another story entirely!

words? id just leave him. what a selfish, unobservant idiot! for the first meal my man cooked me, he made my favorite meal with my favorite dessert and my favorite wine. id only told him once and that was about a month before the meal (took so long as he works loads). Then when i was upset at work he turned up with the biggest box of my favorite chocolates also with a smily face chocolate lollipop. if a man cant even remember your veggie, then is he really worth it?????

Only if you plan on seeing him again.

If you continue to see him, explain what you can & can not eat. He may be an idiot & not understand your dietary preferences.

If he buys chicken pizza again, save the pizza for me & find a new boyfriend.

It is probably worth letting him know sooner rather than later! The next time he can buy you a cheese, mushroom & tomato pizza instead!
