when sewing the cloth doesn't get pulled along probably problem with the mechanism that pulls the cloth along

On my brother 8200 there is a little switch that you cannot see when the accessory case is on. If you pull the accessory case off and look, there will be a switch that runs left to right, one side has triangles below a line (feed dogs down), and triangles with a line through them (feed dogs up). Make sure the switch is in the right position.

Make sure the feed dog is in the proper position, you may also want to clean and oil the machine. If that don't fix it you will have to have it checked by a sewing machine repair person.

check to see if you have some thread bunched up beneath the cloth. If so then use a seam ripper to cut it.

Is the "feed dog" raised above the surface?

You may need a different size of needle or at least change the needle.
