Some unforeseen or un preventable cosmic disaster.
Since everything eventually dies, and death in most cases is tragic we assume we will go extinct with a bang.
Maybe we will go with a whimper instead.
Like being gradually consumed by radiation, bacteria or whatever.
Since this will not happen for many hundreds of thousands or millions of years from now, thinking and especially worrying about it is pretty much a waste of time, considering how short a human life span really is.
