A Deist *can* belong to a Christian church--the real question is "why would he?"

In some communities, people who don't join the local church are ostracised, so he might join even though he doesn't agree with their beliefs. Or, he might've been a member of the church before he became a Deist.

I suppose it also depends on the specific church; some of them refuse to allow members that aren't following their doctrines closely enough.

Anybody can belong to a Christian Church...a Christian, a Jew, a Hindu, an atheist...or a Deist.

One might learn some things that he didn't know. I should warn you though, Christian churches are chock-full of sinners.

I should add that any Christian church that won't let you join, so long as you're not disruptive or the like, isn't a Christian church at all...it's a club.

the entire philosophy of a Deist is that he rejects that the Bible is a divine work or any scripture for that matter.

so I think it would be a problem for the Deist to belong to a Christian church.
