the theory that scientist have with deodorant causing cancer is not the deodorant part, it is the anti-persperant that is in the deodorant. There was a study that showed that there were much less cases of breast cancer than in Europe, and the study people said that is may be because many people in America use anti-perspirant in their deodorant, while many Europeans do not have it in their deodorant. I read that a few years ago and am not sure. where I got it from, happy hunting.

Most deodorants contain aluminum. Aluminum has been linked to Alzheimer's. So there have have been alternative medicine folks who have made all kinds of wild rants against using deodorants, except of course for the 'all natural' kind they will sell you. There is no definitive link between the aluminum in deodorants and Alzheimer's, however. The Aluminum molecule is a very large molecule, and not easily absorbed through the skin. That is probably what you are thinking of, not cancer. I've never heard of deodorants being linked to cancer.

I suppose, however, that you could have an allergic reaction to perfumes or other components in a particular brand and end up with swollen lymph nodes in your pits. That would certainly be scary! But only in an extreme case would it lead to the development of cancer.

I know one of the ingredients in deodorant is aluminum chlorohydrate as an anti perspirant. I've heard various things about the ingredients. Call the American cancer society.

This is true. I was told my a cancer specialist that some deoderants can cause cancer after several years. It is due to specific chemicals, and this has not yet been proven 100%. But they do tell breast cancer patients to stay away from deoderants, and to use an organic product.
