we trained osama bin laden because we wanted him to help us fight the ussr even though we already knew what his ideas were. we helped to start the spread of fundamentalist islamic ideas in the middle east, and then we gave hussein all the chemical and biological weapons so he could help us fight them. saveral decades later we went to war on the supposed notion that we were mad at him for keeping the weapons we gave him.

peanut: i do remember what happened in nyc as i live here. my point was that even though this information is freely available if you look for it most people don't, and the news never mentioned it. i don't support the war in iraq, especially based on the way it was started but i sure as hell think we should clean up the mess we made. for example saddam should have been taken down but, there were better ways to go about it and war should have been the last alternative.
now they will want to go after iran when we are responsible for the mess there too.

Certainly you're kidding!!! Next you're going to say that they have elections in the United States where the person who takes office wasn't the man who was elected! Or something so far fetched as that certain President might authorize bugging everyone's phone in the name if "National Security" OR he might LIE and say there were WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION..he may even go so far as to out an undercover CIA agent for payback for her husbands unwillingness to concede to his reign of whatever.. but of course you know now that none of that is ahh...ummm. welll.. taking place here.. because in the US we don't invade countries for no reason, we don't keep nations captive to self serve some need that has yet to be defined.

Another fact is that we were attacked by bin Laden. Then, there's the wonderful behavior of Saddam H. So, this all adds up to you that we should just sit on our hands and allow it to continue? Those were actual people with little lives of their own who where ripped from their families and friends by means of murder... here in the U.S. and in Iraq. You DO remember what happened in NYC and the Pentagon, and almost happened to the White House??

Bin Laden used to work with US; he fought against us in Afghanistan. US had supplied them with our AKs, to fight against USSR. We did the same with US in Vietnamese war. Now the time has came for US to rip the award and occupy Middle East. Your government will continue to do so...it is logical thing for US to do.
