Go Ask Alice
It's sort of a kiddie book, but it's such a good read. I think I've read it about 10 times in the past 10 years. Plus it'll only take you about 3-4 hours to read and comprehend the whole thing really well. It's not very long at all

I'm about to start reading 'the time travelers wife' by Audrey niffenegger after being recommended this book several times. The book i always recommend is 'shantaram' by David Gregory Roberts i love this book it is an account of his life in India as part of the mafia after breaking out of an Australian prison. It's fantastic has everything you could want in a book. The film is also coming out soon with Johnny Depp playing him

Incidents in the life of a Slave Girl by Harriet Jacobs. It is an autobiography and is considered to be the first known, slave narrative. I enjoyed the book because I learned lessons of agape love and resilience in the face of adversity. It was an intriguing and ravenously good read.

Charlie Brooker's 'Screen Burn'.

"Cruel, acerbic, impassioned, gleeful, frequently outragous and always hilarious, Screen Burn collects the best of the much-loved Gaurdian Guide in one easy-to-read-on-the-toilet package. Sit back and roar as Brooker rips mercilessly into Simon Cowell, Big Brother, Trinny & Susannah, Casualty, Davina McCall, Michael Parkinson...and almost everything else on tv."

It is a funny funny book, you'll be in stitches!
