Saalam is not a name of a female in arab language at all, and yes It is mentioned In Quraan,,and mean peace and it is a name of man not a woman in arabic language,, if it is for a woman it will be Sallaama and not Salaam

Salaam in Quran'an is not the name of a female, it is a word which literally translated into " peace "

Salaam = Peace.

Some Arab and Muslim people would like to name their daughters in this name.
