This is the way I understand the Father/Almighty God and the holy spirit and Jesus/Mighty God.
The Jews worshiped: YHWH/JHVW/Yahweh/Jehovah/the Father/One God Almighty.
God said his spirit/active force created the things pertaining to earth on the 6 *days* of work. In another verse he call the spirit, his hands, which created all these things.
Jesus, the Word, the Son of God, the firstborn of all creation, helped God create the universe.
Rebellion broke out on earth, and mankind lost their perfect standing, paradise and a one on one relationship with the Father.
To undo the rebellion, a legal purchase could be made. No one on earth could pay it, so The Father sent his son, who willingly paid it. His name became Jesus when he was found a human.
Upon the death of the Son, the price was repaid to restore perfection to mankind, paradise and a one on one relationship with God the Father.
The Son was raised from the dead, as a spirit Son again, and was given all authority in heaven and earth. Jesus at the right time will apply his sacrifice to restore all that was lost and then give everything back to God Almighty in perfect condition.
It is true that there is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. But personally the definition of the trinity does not work for me.
The trinity says that they are 3 persons, co equal, co eternal, basically.
In all my study I only acknowledge 2 persons, and a hand. The 2 persons, are not co-equal or co-eternal. The Almighty God never had a beginning, but the Son did, and the Almighty is stronger. The bible says the Father and Son are one. The son also prayed to the Father that all his followers become one with them. Therefore the Father and Son and millions of other will become ONE.
In other words, they will be ONE, on the same side, and Satan and his followers will be on the other side.
Jesus is said to be the Prophet that all must listen to, for their own benefit.
The bible says that the Father resurrected the Son, after 3 days of death. Therefore they do not have the same spiritual body or mind. But they are definitely one in spiritual purpose. Jesus is also called Son of man, because when he was on earth, he had to be totally man, to equal Adam, in the payment for what was lost. (Also Mary was his mother) Since he was the firstborn of all creation, this was his first mother, and Joseph was his step-father.
I did not post ..all.. the scriptures, but if you want any, just write me in yahoo answers and tell me which you want backed up, and I will try to get it to you...best wishes in your search for truth...

You're going to get a lot of answers on this one. Jesus is not like any other person on Earth including Mohamed and Gandhi and other "prophets" because he claimed to be God and man (and no one thought of him as a lunatic because he was backing this up with miracles at the time). This may be a confusing answer but Jesus was fully (100%) God and fully (100%) human while here on Earth. This might sound hard to believe but that's what the Bible teaches us. Some things we may never understand until the after-life. If you are really interested in this subject you might want to check out the Bible teachings on it and some works by C.S. Lewis like "Mere Christianity" as he explains this dilemma quite eloquently. Best wishes with your search for this information - I'm not sure if I helped or confused you more. :)

You are right in that point. And Jesus always expressed that don't give the worship to him, give it to his father, and that you mustn't kneel to anyone, anything only thy Father who is in heaven!
But I will explain in a very light way what is the trilogy thing about:
Consider a light bulb, a switch an the electricity. They are 3 different things, but you cant switch on the lights with out electricity (or a form of energy) or with out the switch. You have the ight and electricity, but who you make the electricity pas on if you don't have the wires of the switch?
The same thing occurs in the Trinity, Is one God, his Son, and the Holy Spirit. Consider God as the bulb light, Jesus the switch and the Holy Spirit the electricity.
Hope this will help you a little

Orthodox Christians believe that Jesus is God incarnate (ie as a human). Others who also would call themselves Christian hold other views including that Jesus became a "god" or is a lesser "god". Others who still would call themselves Christian believe Jesus is a prophet or a wise man.
I strongly reccomend (for all yahoo answers users) a look at the website below that gives a fair and balanced view on most religions

According to Judaism, Jesus Christ was merely a holy prophet, a messenger of God.
According to Christianity, Jesus was both the son of God and God himself. A useful analogy for this is the ol' "two candles" answer.
Imagine two candles, one lit and one unlit. The flame on the lit candle represents God. Now, if you take the lit candle and hold it up to the unlit one, the one that was unlit is now burning, but the first flame is still there.
Another idea is that Jesus was the son of God and either merged with God when he was resurrected and ascended to Heaven, or that he gained God's divine powers of omnipotence.
This is a problem with religion: too much stuff is open to interpretation. =p

I am interested in answering you. But I am now facing some problem in China. Will answer you soonest.
I am back.
From the Muslim point of view, The koran said that Jesus is the breath of Allah (or word of Allah), Kalimatulah. He is also the Almasih, the Messiah. He is from Heaven and is without sin.
All these describtion fitted into the actual person of Jesus the Christian believe. In Gospel of John, it was clearly mentioned, that in the begining was the word, the word was with God, the word was God! The word became flesh!
Meaning, the word came from heaven into the world to become human. Same meaning as in the Koran. Who else can come from heaven beside spiritual being? But this spiritual being is word of Allah, breath of Allah, and that can never be the angel. Gospel put it clearly as God.
He is the Almasih, the Messiah. Greek term it as Christ. In Genesis, after the fall of man, God promised a seed from Eve, who will crash the head of serpent. The work of Satan was destory thru Jesus when he died on the cross.
All mankind have the desire to worship. It is something that we had lost, and can only be fulfilled thru worship. When the Christian worship their God, it is still worshiping God the father, praying to Him thru' the name of Jesus, and beliving that the work shall be done by the Spirit of God. It is indeed confusing.
As human, we are created by God. Beside creating us, he too created the entire universe. Can and scientist claim to know but 10% of the knowledge of the universe? No way. thus, how can we the finite creature undertand fully God our creator? No way. We can only use some form of illustration.
I believe some may have heard of the Trinity God (one God 3 person) uisng the illustration of Triangle. But all these are inperfect way of understanding God. What is most important is to know that no one can go to the Father but thru' Jesus. Not the Christian who said that, but Jesus himself.
It is also important to understand that this creator God loves all mankind, and have a plan for us to return back to him. It is impossible to please him without faith. Faith is to believe in His promise, substance hope for, evidence not found.
Hereby, I pray and wish that in your search to clear your confusion, you will find the truth and believe it.

thanks for asking, Jesus is God the Son and so is God. ITS a Holy Trinity in Christianity that is Father - Son and Holy Spirit. They are three but one God. its hard to understand the meaning try and find a priest or a good friend who can sit with you with the Bible and show and explain together.

I feel they are one and I worship all three. God created all and can be one with whoever He wants to be one with. Adam was his son too. Read your bible if you believe.
Luk 3:38 Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.
