I don't recognize god(s) other than in mythology. I do recognize spiritualists and I consider Leonard Cohen to be one. Leonard Cohen is a Troubadour, with a capital T; an ancient muse in a modern world. He roams the countryside (the world), spreading the gospel. He shares his experiences and his thoughts. I have been deeply moved by his words and music. He is a Gift.

Who is Leonard Cohen? And I'm sorry when did he offer his life up for our sins? What did Leonard Cohen do that is so great? There are plenty of song writers and only one Savior. I honestly have never heard of this Leonard Cohen.

The Jewish name Cohen is not unlike the Zen Buddhist word Koan which denotes a spiritual conundrum and Leonard is indeed something of a little mystery.
I like his line from Susan which, referring to Jesus, says 'He sank beneath your wisdom like a stone', describing beautifully the relationship between the Father and Son and the essential role of sacrifice and self-purging in deliverance. It seems we all must meet something we are prepared to die for - at least in terms of our worldly selves. But this self is a mountain that must be constantly chipped away at. We drink in the heroic moments far more easily than the little tests: we're always reacting, cracking up in the moment. Love rests on the foundation of on-going self-surrender.
Jesus walked to his appointment with death, a willing lamb to the slaughter, breezing past this earthly realm as he went with the effortlessness of a sparrow. He wore no angels wings; his wings were the wings of a wooden cross, impaling him the spot, yet from that spot he saved the world.
We must be little saviors in our lives when we are placed on the spot, where ever that happens to be. But we spit back most of the time.
Love is a repeat trial for us, a farcical Groundhog Day. Jesus passed his test first time. The resurrected Jesus Christ is all around us like a miraculous infusion of grace, available or not available to us as we are to it. Like sunflowers we must turn into it to receive it; and if it's entirely dark then sleep, or dream or hope.
Are you turned off to love today and how many days do you think you can afford to be that way? Jesus' Kingdom resides is attitude, devotion and ordered-emotion: a living persona of love which drinks in death and challenge and rejects the world and all its desires. Love is a song of resistance which requires your active participation. You will experience opposition.
I like LC but as to whether he's more godly than Jesus? It seems by your question that you lack awareness of human limitations.
Learning how to care is the first bridge out of self into the world outside with its vast and complex narratives and realities. Beyond that world - and indeed inter-woven through it - is another reality which is beyond our comprehension. It is the divine reality embodied in Jesus Christ, 'Love come to town', to use B.B King's phrase.
Perhaps you have not met love yet but when you do you will realise that it is bigger - much bigger - than you and even bigger than Leonard Cohen. I hope you recognise him - his agenda, that is - when he comes to your town.
May all your learing be as joyous as learning can be and may Leonard C. rock on...up there with Johnny Cash in my opinion.. I await his final offering with suitable anticipatory awe.

Check the bible. God said I am God and there is no other. Thus he can not be more godly then God.
