Your spirit is the real you.
Most people today believe that your soul and your spirit are the same thing. They are not.
You are a spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a body.When you accept Jesus as your savior, it is you (spirit), that gets saved, not your soul(mind, will, emotions), and not your body.

I believe you are talking about the soul that is associated with music. If so, to me, soul is when you hear a song that makes you groove. It can be music from any genre, but when you hear it, you feel the words, the music and the beat throughout your entire body. It immediately makes you want to dance or shake a part of your body and you can't help but get caught up. You may smile or laugh and you don't care who knows you are feeling the music. If music inspires you to get in this type of mood, you've got soul.

well, christians believe that a soul is what's left of a person when they die. its the part of a human that is eternal, and this is the part that goes to heaven or to hell. the soul has no actual part in daily life, it is just there, and we must maintain it, spiritually. this is done by praying and going to church according to some, others say that your soul needs god's grace to survive.
