Just bought ceiling fan , only two weeks old and is making loud clanking noise, person who installed it says they are bad fans and just need to buy new ones but all three cant be bad! any suggestions to fix it, maybe installed wrong? help?

its due to the friction developed between the ball bearings of the fan which helps the fan rotate..try applying some grease or oil or change the ball bearings if necessary...so that no more sound is heard..dont do it urself..call an electric expert..it can dangerous otherwise..

My fan makes a clicking noise and it turned out to only be the reverse switch (near the fan blades) was hitting slightly with the fan blades. I just popped off the switch cover and sound gone!

Sounds like the chain is hitting the light fixture.
May be out of balance.
Try moving the fan a little (with it turned off of course.) and letting it center itself.
It worked for me.

WD40 will quieten up anything that's mechanical in nature.

check whether some piece was installed upside down.(I'm not sure, but it is possible)

try attaching it to ceiling better

You know - like with screws
