i have met a great guy - but because i dont have that magical / longing feeling whenever i see him or speak on the phone, i wonder if he is not potentially my mr right. my last partner made me feel so excited if he just walked in the room. is it right or wrong to be comparing? also,do you thinkg intimacy could help me gain that type of feeling for the new guy, or potentially be damaging?

its called chasing the dragon. kind of like doing drugs in which u keep on doing it to chase after that high but it gets more and more faint each time. its not wrong to compare as long as you dont treat the guy bad based on this rather base it on how he treats u. if you dont think that he is mr. right then just tell him or just have fun and then have a clean break and be good friends

well all i have to say is if the last guy was your first real love then inside you will always love him, even if your not "in love" with him. but that doesn't mean you should be with your ex, just now that whatever happens with the new guy, WILL happen, you can't force butterflies into your stomach with out them dying right away, but you can swallow a couple cocoons and let the grow into butterflies. i know it sounds gross. but it's true, and remember once those butterflies have hatched, you can only keep them for so long until it dies. my suggestion is that if you know it is time to let those butterflies go before they die, DO IT. or you will be left with something that is dead and rotting.

You just said that he is a great guy, why are you comparing areyou still living in the past. Its time to move forward maybe if you really let you ex go you will feel the butterflies for this new guy

You have to listen to what the chemistry tells you. If this plays out, there will come a very uncomfortable day when he says I love you and you will know that you don't. Very hard to get out then. I stayed with someone for three months because all my friends told me that those feelings I was looking for weren't out there. I broke up with her and had to tell her that there was nothing wrong with her, I just didn't have those feelings. That is not enough reason for most people so it mas messy. 6 years later, she has the husband of her dreams and I have the wife of my dreams and we remain friends because I was honest with her and honest with myself.

If you don't have thoes kind of feelings for him intimacy isn't going to bring them on. Just take things slow and who knows thoes feelings may come latter. As time goes on you will know if he is the right one.

It is natural to compare. Give it sometime. I think intimacy will give you the answer eventually. If you still don't feel different about him, then leave him.

you need to give it some time.. let things develop between you guys.. and yes, comparing is wrong! you're a lot more careful/wise now after the last relationship, so you're being more practical and hence taking longer to open up - it doesn't mean anything's wrong!!

i concept i'd eaten a gummy trojan horse once and it became out to be a real trojan horse, and my mom advised me the sensation i changed into gonna have changed into butterflies in my abdomen and that i concept she meant i changed into gonna throw up stay butterflies.
