No, cow milk is for baby cows just as breast milk is for baby humans. Cow milk is formulated especially for their offspring but we take away their babies and feed them formula instead so that we can harvest the milk for ourselves. And, if you are ever on a dairy farm when they separate the mom cow from her baby, they both cry out trying to find each other. It is very cruel and I refuse to support it. With so many plant-based milks such as rice, almond, oat and soy, there is no reason to steal the milk from the baby cows.

Because it is delicious and nutritious, and (at least in theory) no animals are harmed in procuring it.

The dairy cow is a domesticated animal, bred for producing milk. She LIKES to be milked. It would be cruel to NOT milk her.

Lastly, have good news for you - you do not need to suck on a cow's teat to get milk - squeezing it will do the job, though they have machines to do this, now. You can bypass all of that and just buy it in a container from the store.

I have no clue. It's just the way it's been for a long time.
I'm lactose interolerant so I can't drink the stuff without a pill.
I wouldn't want to drink breast milk anyway, funny after taste...

Cow`s milk is next only to mother`s milk in supplying nutrients and globulins to defend against infection . Mothers do not nurse us in adulthood.
Thank mother "COW"

We drink their milk because it's healthy and provides us with nourishment.

Why do the baby cows drink the milk?

Why do babies suckle from their mother's breast?

well no, that's why we put it in a jug---duh!

On the same token you wouldn't send a 10 yr. old child up to his/her mom talking about " mama, I'm thirsty- pull it out!" either.

We need milk for strong bones, developmental needs, and yada yada yada...but then again when you think about it, we (humans) are the ONLY species on the planet that take the milk from another species...interesting- I guess there aren't any alternatives...
and soy milk is not an alternative- it's a punishment! YUCK!

well this is something that has always bothered me. we are genetically nothing like a cow, surely it would make sense to have pigs milk or chimps as we are alike? Plus the fact someone must of tried it first, nowadays they would be seen as sick!

Would you rather we had thousands of new mothers sitting around the dairy being milked so you could have milk on your corn flakes?
