I wouldn't really be prudent to give you the simptoms of depression.
They will ask you. Be sides to a therapist depresion is pretty much a self defining term.

How old are you? When you say you feel like you can't control your mind and always think of negative things, do you feel as though you are going to harm yourself or another person? You need to talk to someone as soon as possible. Are you close to your parents or other relative? Friend, neighbor, church member?
It may help to write down how you are feeling. You can always show the therapist your journal.

They will probably do and H and P
(history and phyiscal) and ask you a whole bunch of stupid questions. But before your appt, think about what's been going on and the things that you are most concerned about right now and jot those down and bring them with you. I sympathized with you it is hard to describe depression and how you feel. Good luck to you

Ask your therapist for help with this. This is one of the things they are trained to do. You don't need to tell us any more of your symptoms as one person suggested. You told us enough to answer your question and you don't need any advise from that person . That is what the therapist is for. You will probably get dumb advice from him and from some friends too. That's why people see a therapist is to get "good" advice from someone who knows what they are talking about. God bless you. I find that if I ask God directly for help He always gives it to me, but in His time not in my time.

Tell your therapist just that. Generally the point of going to therapy is because you have feelings that you don't understand, and or can't deal with. Just be honest, don't hold anything back. They are not there to judge you, but to help you.

Just tell them how you feel...that's you're sad all the time, or cry a lot, or don't feel motivated to do the things you need/want to do.
Therapists are not scary. Just be honest with them, or they can't help you.
