My sister had her first child at 36 weeks because of high bllod pressure (caused by a detaching placenta) and her son turned out fine. Now her doctor has an inducement scheduled for her second child at 35 weeks; she is 27 weeks. She thinks I should be thinking of doing the same. I'm only 5 weeks.

I work in the mother/baby unit sometimes. My advice would be: 1)I wouldn't plan on doing a thing unless you know you are in danger, otherwise let it go full term, that is ALWAYS the best for the baby. 2) If there is a problem, then it should be a decision made between the doctor and yourself. Only if it is life threatening should something so drastic be taken. 35 weeks is ok but the baby is still not fully developed and can lead to problems, there is always that chance. If you're only five weeks, I wouldn't worry about it until something wrong actually came about.

Don't let anyone talk yuo into doing someting that isn't natural, unless it is your doctor doing so for medical reasons. If there wasn't a reason for pregnancy to last 40 weeks, then it would only last 36 weeks. Yes, a baby can be just fine after only 36 weeks, but that last month is also crucial for many babies to put on extra weight that helps them to be healthy, and also for lung development. Do you really want your baby to be jaundiced or have breathing problems?

I don't know why you would want to jeopardize your baby's health (even if only minorly) for any reason unless there was a bigger issue at hand (such as pre-eclampsia). Just let nature stay its course and do what's best for baby. Plus, induced births are almost always more painful than natural ones because pitocin brings on very strong contractions....trust me, my daughter was induced, and unless my doctor told me I HAD to induce the next one, I'd keep it in for as long as it felt like staying there!

I wish i could be induced that early. I am 36 weeks now. My doctor told me that i cant be induced before 38 weeks and definitly not before 37 weeks because its considered pre-term. I say wait a couple of weeks just to be sure. Whatever is better for u, I hope it works out. Good Luck.

Sounds a useless ringer for a braxton hicks contraction. i understand maximum will say that your total abdomen will be truly problematic, even if that is diverse for all of us. For myself, i think the unexpected urge that I even might want to pee very badly and the right facet receives problematic and the full, yet not the bottom and that i actually have complication respiration. I talked to my wellbeing care professional and she or he stated that this a procedures into being pregnant, the toddler is so huge that it style of feels purely area of the uterus is getting problematic even if that is in simple terms the position the toddler is laying. the pointy pains interior the vagina are a demonstration the toddler is commencing to drop and have interaction interior the pelvis for start, yet not something to fret about. the purely indicators that something will be occurring will be if the contractions are coming extra many times and closer mutually, you start up to leak fluid or your water breaks, or you've painful cramps lasting more advantageous than an hour or so. i'm getting an same emotions coming further and extra many times now that i'm 39 weeks, it began for me round 35 weeks, so it sounds fantastically general. :) good success!

you medically are not supposed to plan an induction unless medical condition insist on it. Like big baby, PIHT, toxiemia, Hellp... Most dr's wont schedule induction until after due date. if you want to induce consider the weeks 38-42. That way if you dates were off then your child is more in the clear

I had my son at 36 weeks cause i had pre-eclampsia and plus they couldn't stop my labor. He was born healthy and he still is.

No doctor is going to induce labor if there is not a very good reason for it.

No offense, but you need to make up your mind.. heres your other question only an hour ago Under "What are some natural ways to increase fertility?" You said "We have been trying for 3 years but my doctor won't help us out because I am only 22. However, I have been happily married for almost 4 years. "

So, in other words, your 5 weeks pregnant, but you need fertitlity treatments to get pregnant cuz you havent been able to get pregnant for 3 years??
