I have already made a decision for the accommodation in Phuket. Also, I have found that there are a lot of other Islands nearby such as Phi Phi Island, Railey Island, Ao Nang Island, Lanta Island, Similan Island. As there are nearby, so I'm wondering if I want to get over those Islands, How long does it take from a place to place? If it takes only a short time, so that will be ok, I will just visit. But if it takes a long time, or If I want to stay, are there a lot of hotels provided? I have to make a booking in advance or just walk-in? How about the rates over there as well?

Thank you.

Hi Rachell

I am glad you have chosen your hotel.

Phi Phi can be visited as a full day trip and you can also stay there for one or more nights.

Railay Beach and Ao Nang Beach are both on Krabi mainland around 3 hours or more from Phuket by road. There are plenty of hotels and if you go in the low season i.e. now, I would not expect you would have a problem just walking in.

Lanta Island is at the southern end of Krabi Province around 5 hours from Phuket.

The Similan Islands are mainly for divers on liveaboards.

You have plenty of choices but watch the weather at this time. Ferry schedules can be disrupted and I expect you would not want to be anywhere too remote in case it should rain.

Have a great trip.

Hi, in Phuket you can go island hoping. For island resort booking, you can inquire at the piers where the boats are. The people there will be able to help you. You can stay on some of the island resorts, while some are for visiting only. And the rates are not too high,, as in Thavorn Beach Village.

Have a good time.

i have travelled to Thailand several times...the best deal is still to do online research and book accomadations in advance. Try this website, they have the cheapest rates i found so far...i booked my stay via this site just last year.

and the nearby islands u mentioned are not too far away (I've visited some of them), u can book day tours to clusters of about 4 islands per trip, at Phuket u can walk in and check the prices at the local agencies.

enjoy..

in case you're picking between purely those 2 i might recommend Amari Coral coastline by way of fact it has a extra handy region, i.e. strolling distance of the shops and bars of Patong, if it quite is significant. whether, till issues have replaced when you consider that i grew to become into there, i does no longer say that externally the form is incredibly Asian. by the way neither hotel has a lot of a coastline well worth conversing approximately, whether sea swimming is exceedingly a lot a no-no as we talk besides. The island has a lot decision it quite is puzzling understanding the place to stay, with each place or each hotel having its very own advantageous factors and advantages. somebody here stated Cape Panwa. a good decision as we talk of three hundred and sixty 5 days by way of fact it has some guard from the south-west monsoon, whether it quite is in a quiet spot. My very own standard section is the Laguna Phuket (incredibly Dusit Laguna or Laguna coastline for the extra Asian shape) yet for some it quite is purely too a lot of a vacationer enclave. besides, sorry I digressed. i'm a great fan of Amari inns and that i'm advantageous you is purely no longer disillusioned by employing the favored. savour Phuket. how long does it take to get another island? normally it takes about an hour or more. depends how far tho but not more than 2 hours. i suggest you to take a speed boat. the price is about 2,800 baht.

about the accommondation, you ought to make a booking in advance at least 1 month before you get here. i can say that most of hotels or gueshouses here dont accept walk-in guests or if they do, you'll have to pay more than you're supposed to pay. it's better if you check out www.excelloz.com this site gives you special price for accommodation. hope it helps.

cheers.
