Instead of enjoying there independance like we do they turn it into a day to show the USA (who provides military safety to them at no charge) how they are ungrateful and cannot respect this nation. If it is a question about immigration, they need to respect that they are not the only immigrants and that the mexican flag isn't the flag to hold up when you are trying to become an American. Also boycotting? Are they trying to be free of thier dependance on the US for a day- so what; they all buy gass and food the day prior and the day following? Can't they do anything better than half-efforted.
I never disliked them until this last 1st of may with thier ugly disrespect for our nation. I will vote against them now and will not support mexican americans any more. Not employing them nor thier businesses.
I don't see the Japanese or Chinese boycotting this nation. Nor any other immigrants. Nor do I see them holding up another flag here. I thought this was America and we were Americans.

Its kind of late for that but I liked the idea. Personally I think its a great day to round up illegal immigrants and send them home. Its a great day to start revowing our commitment to the laws of our land and tell employers they have until July 5th to make sure everyone they employ is legal or they face $10k fines for each offense (a law ignored on our books)

No. That's being childish and immature. The words Tit for Tat come to mind. I'm of Mexican, German, Irish and Cech decent. And it's not ALL Mexicans that are doing this. You should talk to someone in that nationality before you start to assume anything. You may find that you don't have all the facts. I respect your opinion, but it doesn't mean I have to agree with it. And just for the record, there are other nationalities that do the same thing, it's just no widely publicised. This is America and we are the land of opportunity. If you no longer like what's going on here. perhaps moving to Canada would be best for you. That's only my opinion. Don't judge one nation because of what they do and you don't like it. They aren't going to go away. Look at the gas stations in America today. Once, they were owned by Americans. Now they are owned by Middle Easterns. Are you going to boycott them too? Good luck with that one. And if you kick immigrants out, you're kicking out YOUR family. Nice how everyone judges everybody by either skin color or what they do. Get a grip people. I don't like what they are doing either, but I deal with it. Get a life already!!!!!!!!!

For so long the US has been giving these people more help than they do for our own citizens and I guess these people just expect it now. All they got to do is put up a little stink and they get what they want. Hey three Mexicans kidnapped my kid and got away with it. No charges they walked, so they could get some other kid for their sick purposes. What's with that. Anyway,. It was terrible of them to do what they did to the American Flag and if they hate this country so much they should go back to Mexico. All illegals should most definitely be returned to their country. However, there is good and bad in all people. It is our gov't that is allowing all this. All of us US citizens need to get united and fight corruption and greed but it will never happen. Don't hate these people some are good people trying to make a better life for their family. THEY SHOULD DO IT LEGALLY!!!!

There are no American workers in Mexico, and May 1st is not the Mexican independence day, it's not even May 5th if that's what you're thinking about.

And if you do, i guess it will be in 2007 because it's July 5th now :-)

America=melting pot of many nations and cultures
Go to Chinatown in San Francisco and make all the chinese people that live there to take our all their signs in Chinese..then you'll see what happens...
No one is disrespecting the US and you are just falling in the "ignorant" team. Get educated and you'll see things in a different perspective.

Honestly, who's going to invade Mexico? Guatemala? C'mon.

Also, keep in mind that the economic policies of the US government have generally had negative side effects on the poorest segments of Mexico's society. That segment tends to provide the most emigrants. Ergo, they will harbor some resenment against the country that promoted their displacement (even if they're in the US).

Guys, do you know how stupid this whole thing sounds from across the pond? We sit here in Europe and watch your 2 countries act like bloody kids. Just get over it, ok? So what if they want to boycott American goods, we do it over here! Its up to them, get over it

you have a VERY good point. however, if this is how you feel (using a day to boycott them because they do it to us) I dont think we should stoop to that level. I think we should continue to use 4th of July for what its always been used for, celebrating our country, & not fighting fire with fire shows we have more class.

I don't believe we should stoop to their level. We need to celebrate July 4th as it was intended for and that's what makes us better Americans.
