I was hoping to get some answers from people who have read the bible. There are 3 versions of the in every translation of the old testament, including the King James version. For those who need a refresher, they are in Exodus 20:2-17, Exodus 34:12-26, and Deuteronomy 5:6-21.
So which is the right set and how do you know? Why did god make mistakes with the other two versions?

To what 3 versions are you referring?
I understand your mistake now.
The accounts in Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5 are one and the same. Two different books, and different reasons for giving the accounts.
The Exodus 34 account is about two new tables of laws which God wrote after Moses broke the originals in anger at Aaron for idol worship., See Exodus 32.
What often happens is one studies God's Word with the motive of trying to find contradictions and anomaly's.
God's Word is not an argument. It can be the subject of an argument and often is when viewed by unbelievers.
But if one actually takes the time to read the Word and do the study that's required to understand it, it quickly becomes clear that God's Word is what it is, and it is not He who makes mistakes but us.

I have always found the "King James Authorized Version" to carry the most truths. So much has been lost in translations that a lot of scriptures don't even mean the same thing any more.

Before you take anything as fact, know your source, research the KJVA and the Septuagint and then make your decision.

After you have researched the KJVA buy a copy of "Strong's Exhaustive Concordance" and the door to biblical knowledge will open to you. It is important to know that the bible is not a book to be read but studied. Good Luck

The King James version of the Bible has the correct translation of the Scriptures,
The Roman catholic church has changed their teaching and removed the 2nd commandment telling people not to worship idols. this is to keep Rcs worshiping idols and making lots of money for the RC church
They have also made the 10th commandment into two so they still have 10!
But the Roman church is a false gospel and Rcs are NOT Christian.
Stick to the KJ Bible and you will have the truth.

The version given to the Jews is the correct one. The Catholic church admits that they have changed that version to meet their own traditions. I don't know anything about a third version.

Lois-the Apostate, it is obvious that you have not heard of Seventh-Day Adventists who do keep the sabbath, don't eat unclean animals, don't drink alcohol or smoke. All are not perfect, but they do put forth a good effort. The ceremonial laws are not observed because they met their fulfillment in Christ. Each part of the sacrificial system represented Jesus in one way or another, so that when Jesus died on the cross, every symbol met its fulfillment. SDA's do believe that the laws concerning diet and the moral law are still in effect since they are not representations of Christ.

Just trying to obey the 10 commandments is not sufficient to enter heaven. The apostle Paul stated that by obeying the last 6 commandments, we are showing our love to others and thus fulfilling the law. And by worshiping God according to the first 4 commandments we show our love for God. "If you love me, keep my commandments."

Simply put, love your God with all of your hearts....love your neighbors as yourself, is obedience to the 10 commandments.

What difference does it make when Christians don't follow them, anyway? Besides, they were only a tiny part of the much larger Mosaic law, which had more than 600 individual laws that had to be followed in order to gain God's approval. God was so picky that he even decided what clothes people were allowed to wear (no mixed fibers) and what animals they could eat. Why do Christians focus only on ten and ignore other 603? I don't see them avoiding lobster and pork to please God. But then, I don't see most of them keeping the Sabbath day, either. They think it's on the first day of the week when God said it's the 7th.

The correct one is the one you wish to follow. It's a matter of personal opinion today as opposed to a couple hundred years ago when they'd hang you for choosing the one you liked.

Good Luck.

The answer is: none of them. You cannot, by any conceivable test, establish that any of them are correct. Therefore, they should all be considered wrong.
