The rule of thumb if one has a strong grip in golf you should technicly be hitting a strong draw or a hook. Now why does he hit a high fade flight. (Fade left to right) (Draw right to left). Here is a question you may ponder on.

Because, regardless of his grip he has a natural outside in swing....the grip keeps it under controll.....believe it or not, while pros tend to play the draw more often...fade is more natural to golfers at all levels....

A strong grip "promotes" a draw or hook, it does not cause one. Fred also does not use a golf glove. He might be gripping the club tighter to compensate which would lead to a slight restriction in clubhead rotation. Most pros use the same grip regardless of how they want to shape the shot. They tend to either restrict (fade) or snap (draw) the club head at the point of impact to achieve the desired shape.
