I have these two stray cats that wander around at nighttime that wander around my house at night, and my hope is that I can befreind them enough so that they can come around my house more often like it was a safe zone.I've actually made attempts to approach these cats in order to feed them, but they run away when I come close to them, and I just worry about them because as strays, anything could happen to them, and I just want them as safe as possible. Before I can do that, though, I need advice on how to befriend these cats so I can be percieved as a foodboy and not as an enemy or hunter. Any advice?

Put dry food and water out for them every night, they will come around more, believe me.

And take baby steps to get to know them...start by putting the food out, then maybe sitting out there at night and see if they come around, them put a hand down for them to smell, etc.

Don't go after them, as they are probably at least part Farrel and you will freak them out.

The best way to get them to come more often is to feed them regularly, and thenwhen you do feed them make a point of being around when they do come in and each night move a little closer, At first they might run away, but eventually they will get used to seeing you aroung when they are feeding, just don't make a move to touch them or they might just not come near to you again, take it slow, and win their trust.
The other solution is go and get yourself a cat trap fron your local SPCA and trap them in there, but that means having to feed them in the trap for about three weeks to a month, the other way is definitely much more humane. GOOD LUCK

It is a waiting game. "Bring food with you and put it down. Get far away. Then put down food and get a little closer. Keep the food in the same place. shake the bag and whistle or click your tongue. Kitty, kitty. This will take a long time. You probably won't be able to pet them maybe at all. They will come around if they are males you might not get very close at all. they are smart they will look for you eventually and call to you. Just keep it simple.

Feed them regularly. I have these two strays near my house and they won't approach me although I give them some food occasionally. However, they rub themselves and play with a lady who feeds them every afternoon at the same time. Actually they wait for her outside her door. You can leave food beside your door or something.

i would just put a dish of food outside of your house everynight and let them come to you . most stray cats are never around humans so they will immediately run away. be calm and always be slow, dont run to them. give them water as well or even put a blanket or pillow outside for them to sleep on this also might help

It takes quite a while sometimes. But if you continue to feed them they will become more trusting. They will eventually let you come closer and closer. Just be patient.
