Who is God? How do you know what he wants and what must be done to "please" him? Its just this that religion is trying t give you / tell you. You should have the intelligence to know whats the crux of each and which do you subscribe to

It would be very nice if the world weren't so corrupt and people could live in an idealistic world that allowed such things.

But alas, humans need order of sorts.

And with most religions there are guidelines as to what it means to be a ‘decent human being’.

While these guidelines are necessary, being human, being flawed…people some times can overdo/warp things.

And….well…supposedly you’re rewarded if you follow these guidelines pretty well throughout life.

But it would be so nice if your question were possible.

Bear in mind, some people don’t even believe in a God.

Super question!!!! And I agree. I trust in GOD. I'm not at all fond of organized religion. There are too many hypocrites, and the bible can be faulty. Alot can be lost in translation, so trusting in God is the only way to go in my opinion.

True they should believe only in God. But the appeal of the other religions that they do not need to look outside themselves is reason enough to believe in a religion.

Our trust needs to be in God. Organized religion is the joining together of believers to worship and honor God. Any religion that does not honor God is a futile organization.
We want to trust the traditions of those that have learned from God. The main reason for this is that God has chosen to work in and through people to do His work. I know you might say He doesnt need to do this but He has chosen to do it this way.
Religion that is true to God is organized in such a way that it is instructional and is centered on being a church as Christ intended. Much of church doctrine is established from the New Testament teachings of the Apostle Paul who was instructed by the Holy Spirit.
I suggest you get involved in a good Biblical church and study the word of God with them. Then you will understand the place of religion and the reality of God.

I have said before that religions are man made but a relationship with God is made by God and the person that seeks Him.

Please dont blame a Bible believing church for the sillyness of man made religions. Find God and get involved in Him. Dont try to be religious but instead be in love with God and seek fellowship with His people. You will be amazed at what God will do to renew you and to make your life worth while.

Read John 14:6-10
6. Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
7. "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.''
8. Philip said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.''
9. Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, `Show us the Father'?
10. "Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.

Thus the church doesnt speak on the authority of the pastor but by the word of God. Accept Jesus as your savior and welcome the same Holy Spirit to dwell in you even as Jesus did.

Religion is to bring people of a group to worship when they are having a harder time. I personally think it okay to worship alone, and directly through God, for the words of Jesus were "just split a piece of wood and I will be there". There's no need for that go-between guy, and all the money for a church when it should go directly to the source of need.
