We have not made any major changes to the WAY we teach since before computers. In other words, teachers are teaching using a philosophy that these kids are going to grow up and work in industry. We must start teaching to prepare kids for jobs in technology from the time they start school. Kids now are playing computer games by the time they are 3, to keep their interest we must find new ways to teach. Math books and English books had their place in time, but now we have to find creative ways to keep these kids interested. A changing society with no change in the school system will not work.

The biggest problem in the Public Schools is the complete lack of discipline and the permissiveness over teasing and hazing. School Uniforms would be a big help.
Large class size is also a big problem.
Anyone who possibly can should send their kids to Private School - one with harsh discipline and neat Uniforms.

The parents, parents are not involved as they use to be. Many people I know look at schools being a babysitter. Rather than an insitution for learning and nurture. We do not pay our teachers enough.

teachers are under-appreciate and underpaid. students are expected to fail and assumed to not know anything. parents not as involved as they should be. students are being passed to meet stupid quotas even though they should be held back until they can read and write properly. students are being forced to do work and go through the routine rather than encouraged to learn for their own sake....I could go on forever...and I've done public and private school

The problem isn't with the schools, it's the lazy, undisciplined students, who think they don't have to strive for success. It's also parents who don't push their children in the right direction.
