One of the greatest ironies that I have as an Israeli is that the Palestinian suicide bomber that exploded in Tel-Aviv several weeks ago had a glass of water from MY infrastructure and took a **** in a toilet that removed his waste into MY sewage system.

I've had really great discussions about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with people, but no one has been able to explain to me why there is such a lack of infrastructure in Gaza and the West Bank. Israel and other civilized nations give hundreds of millions of dollars to Palestinians (their government) monthly, and yet this money never created infrastructure for sewage or water or electricity. As long as Hamas uses my electricity to type up their Jihad letters, drink my water, eat UN food, and **** in toilets that remove their wastes using MY tax money, I just don't get how they can call for Israel's destruction. They would have more legitimacy to call for our demise if they were at all self sufficient.

In response to some of the answers i have gotten, I still have not found satisfactory answers as to what is happening to all of the international aid that is being thrown on palestine. Let me remind you that I don't condone many of the things Israel does, it is a great irony that the ghettos of Europe are now in Israel, however, where is the money? Where are the pipes from the Jordan river to a dispersion system to houses of the West Bank? It was never built! However, Yasser Arafat had enough money to keep his family in Paris, and to replace his helicopter 3 times. Please explain these facts.

Once upon a time, before Israel, there was once a region under British Mandate called Palestine. Palestine was an agrarian society, not many extensive roads and no real amount of industrialization, however, the people there were eagerly awaiting there promised independence from the British, to make their own country free from outside influence.

Imagine having this, and then suddenly being forced out of your homeland by a group that called themselves Zionists. Seeing your people displaced under the pain of death, of having villages and towns that your families have lived in for dozens if not hundreds of years razed to the ground, either burned or ground into the earth by those who seemingly came out of nowhere and started demanding your land and livelihoods. After this, imagine also having what remained of your people moved into ghettos, or overcrowded settlements in the less arable parts of the country, men and women being unable to find jobs, children unable to get an education, and having the world, including the United Nations legitimize the invasion, calling the land you received a "fair and just comprimise."

This is the kind of world that prompted the creation of the PLO and other groups, the kind of world where you and your people have lost your homeland, abandoned by those to whom you had entrusted your future and having no future as your children lie idle and helpless. This world, whether merely perceived or not, is the kind of world that many Palestinians lived in immediately after the formation of Israel. Although I do not like the tactics employed by those like Hamas nor the targets they choose, I can also see why they are fighting and why they must fight.

In response to Palestinians using "your" infrastructure, "your" infrastructure is sitting on top of and in what is THEIR land, Israel got its land and built its fortune by stealing land and livelihood from a people not prepared to defend themselves from such. Something I think is bitterly ironic considering the horrors of the holocaust that drove many to go to Palestine in the first place.

On a final point, as this was mostly implied in the question explanation, I can't really see Israel as being any more "civilized" than Palestine. If civilization is measured by roads and sewers, I can understand, Israel has an excellent road and sewer system. However, should civilization be based on the respect towards children and the helpless along with the concepts of humanitarianism and mercy, then Israel would be ranking near the "barbarity" end of the spectrum. In fact, in terms of killing non-combatants, torture, and assassination, the militant Palestinian organizations will have to work much harder to match the lows set by the Israeli government and numerous "Zionist" militant groups (Irgun and the Stern Gang come to mind although these are far from the only ones or the worst).

In conclusion, nobody is innocent, hate often has a large foundation and is often reciprocated, and, most of the time, nothing truly yours, mine, or theirs.

I think you are asking for more than this forum can provide as all that is likely here is quick answers.

You are asking a lot of different questions. Why does palestinians hate isreal? The biggest answer is the mass terror that the founders of Isreal used to carve it out in the area. Look up the period in a history book.

Why doesn't Gaza have infrastructure? The quick answer is Isreal settlements. The fight over what Isreal owns in Gaza and West Bank is done with Isreal's bulldozers. That is how they have cleared anything in Palestine in recent decades. With this back and forth movement of the border, Palestinians don't know what areas to build, as they don't know what will get torn down as soon as they build it. Again this forum is the wrong one for much detail.

In essance the problem between Isreal and Palestine is a spiral. Neither side wants to back down. Both sides what the other to admit its guilt first and unconditionally. There are few innocent in the leadership on either side. I see no hope for peace in that region.

Perhaps they don't have any infrastructure is because Israel keeps blowing it up.

Why do they hate you? Let me count the reasons. You stole their land, you keep killing them, you keep invading. How's that for a start.
