By example would be a start.

But mostly, by taking the trash off tv that makes them believe it's the thing to do, and that everyone but them is doing it.

It seems to me that they AREN'T rushing into marriage. It seems like they are rushing into living together. That's even worse.

I always get negative comments 4 this, but make abstinence as cool & as popular as alleged safe sex is made to be. Equallize the playing field (no pun intended). If people saw this as a viable option, some people will have the strength to do that and not care what others think. Then u'll c more & more people doing what's within ur question. U'll c less negative issues in the long run. Young people should b enjoying life constructively; not pushing real baby carriages at such a young age. Is no one taught how 2 b in self-control anymore? My generation was taught it maybe 2 much, but it's better than none at all.

Unfortunately we cannot show them. Young people now a days "think" their old enough at age 13 or so. They think they know "Everything." They have to learn the hard way.

Young marriages usual end in thier 20's. They don't realize that LIFE is so much more than just punching out babies, sex, and drugs.

So sad, so sad.

you can't!

I know when I was 17/18 I thought I knew everything there was to know about life. It didnt matter what anyone said, if i wanted to do something I would do it!

To answer the question, you can tell them what you think and give them advice! Let have to them make their own decisions but be there to step in and point them in the right direction if need be. There really isn't much more you can do besides make them aware of how serious waiting for those things are and hope that they listen.

they won't listen to you, unless you do some drastic like bring them to a morgue and show them a dead body of a teenage mother or something. they need to learn the lesson themselves, or at least feel like they learned the lesson. so you could recommend a movie or a book to them that is about young lives gone wrong. the book for teenagers "someone like you" by sarah dessen is really good, it's about a girl who got pregnant in her teen years.

I DONT THINK THAT WE CAN EVERYBODY HAS TO LEARN FROM THEIR OWN MISTAKES. THEY CAN SEE THEIR BEST FRIEND OR EVEN THEIR SISTER BEING A TEEN AGE MOTHER AND STRUGGLING MAYBE EVEN HAVE TO DROP OUT OF SCHOOL AND THEIR RESPONSE WILL BE IF IT WAS ME I WOULD NOT BE IN THAT SITUATION. THEY FEEL THAT IF IT WERE THEM THEY WOULD DO A BETTER JOB

We can't! Just as your parents told you and their parents told them, we all have to learn that for ourselves. The best that we can do is to encourage their ambitions and applaude their accomplishments.
