Understanding that it's hard to blend in when you're white in an Asian country, etc. You know what I mean....

I try to blend in as much as possible...I'm not going to wear a KU baseball hat in Paris, for example. There are days when I want to fit in and then there are the days when I don't care if I fit in or I look like a tourist and wear my sweatshirt, jeans and New Balance tennis shoes (not white ones though) in Paris.

Sometimes you feel like a tourist, sometimes you don't.

Be Tourist, but do some local stuff.

A few weeks in the foreign country does not enough to behave like locals. I do like to visit small local restaurant, though. They know you are the tourist, and they welcome you a lot if you come back again and again. There is a good chance you make good friend is the restaurant is a small one.

well it's always nice to see how the locals live, and what they eat etc, but it's also good to let your hair down, relax and have some fun (even if that means drinking till you fall off your chair at 3am, and lazing on the beach all day)

i do what ever i want, i do me, i don't worrie about blending in with anyone. You should never have to try to do something just to try to make someone feel good about you!! it never really matter what people think about you it's what you think about yourself
