I could never understand this either. I see people and help them when I can but I have never wanted or tried to run a person off because he was begging or looked homelss. It says in the Bible that if a person ask of you and you have give. Go the extra mile infact with that person if he asks....This is a good question
God Bless and Good Luck to you and yours

Gee whiz, homeless guy, you have some issues baby!!!
So, because SOME people have acted towards you in a way that was offensive, and caused you to be defensive...you're automatically assuming I will do the same? I think the main problem here is the SOME people seem more like ALL people to you, and that's causing your REAL bad attitude, which in turn causes a real bad reaction.
This is proven right here by some of the reactions you have gotten to your question. But see, the reason is, we can feel your frustration and it comes at us like huge bolts of anger. (Well, that and a few idiots who read the whole story and only grasp a few words.) Trouble is...nobody can explain the actions of another person, so nothing I say, or anybody says will ease the anger you feel towards your past experiences.
Now, I'm not saying that all humans are kind. Just about everybody has been unkind to somebody, somewhere, sometime. Let me ask you this...have you ever told a "blonde joke"? Have you ever had a bad thought about the fat person standing in front of you in line? Have you ever cussed at the old man in front of you that's driving 20 miles an hour? Have you ever imitated the accent of Sylvester Stallone or Arnold Scharzenegger?
Okay, so you're not perfect. Neither am I. Neither is he...or her...or them...or those people over there.
I seriously...SERIOUSLY...doubt, that when you walk into the rental store, they actually say..."We can't rent to you because you look like Jesus". Why don't you try living in this moment, not last week or last month, or last year, and walk into the rental store with a smile on your face, shake their hand, and a say..."hey! how ya doin?", and when they ask back, you tell them "it's been a rough ride, but it's getting better now...thanks for asking."
Just so you'll know, in case you need to, or you know somebody who needs to know in the future...many churches offer free food and lodging to whoever shows up at their door. And many cities have the YMCA, that offers shelter for a low or no fee. And, I'm pretty sure most cities have some kind of men's shelter, where they offer food, shelter, clothing and job assistance.
I wish you the best of luck in all you do, from this point on, and you are welcome to email me if you want somebody to talk to. Seriously...I mean it.
And for the record people...you're not paying attention!!! He says he WAS in this situation, and still has leftover baggage because of it. There is no reason for him not to be able to get online...you can access the internet absolutely free at any public library.

ok i doubt you look like jesus, for the fact that we dont dress that way anymore. to start with, if you have a job, and your credit is getting better you should be able to get into a cheap apartment.. if your being harrased for the way you look, change it.. get a nice outfit or two at walmart or a thirft store, and go to a motel that has a shower, clean yourself up and get into some nicer clothes. then go to look for apartments.. i am also sure that jesus didnt look very homeless. yes he was a traveler, bt he was also the son of a carpenter, and the son of god. so he was probably clothed adiquitly. i am also sure that there are more people out there in way worse of a spot. think about that before you hate on the people who have caused you problems. for remember that one of the fewthings esus said while upon the cross was "forgive them, for they know not what they do" keep this in your mind. because it sounds like you have no rental history for the past few years i do believe it will be harder to find a place to live. i also believe that people of hispanic heritage, do not epriciate being called "Mexicans". to answer peoples qestions of how you got onto a computer, simple. there are coffee bar and several other places they can use a computer. as well as work.

I have opened my home to many people that were homeless over the years. I've gotten people off the street and taken them to the Salvation Army so that they could sleep in a bed and not under the bridge or the courthouse steps.
I gave them somewhere to sleep, food to eat , and somewhere to take bath, wash their clothes, and then took them to look for work. Not one of them today are on the street. And a couple of them are actually doing better than I am. I am proud of them, and thankful that I had the chance to help someone. I've also driven many people to Dr. appts., the grocery, laundromat, and to church. If any one of these people may have been Jesus "under cover" then I will be honored to have helped him.
I would be very leary about mistreating anyone that looked like Jesus, you never know, it might really be him.

I've never ridiculed or persecuted any homeless person. As a matter of fact , ever friday or saturday night downtown when I would go to clubs, there would be homeless people outside, and I was the only one out of all my friends that would give them some of my money. Who cares I was going to spend it on a beer inside the club, ya know.
But aside from all that, it seems to me you have a lot of issues going on with the way you were treated, and you need to work on that. Not everyone is an asshole as you say, or will percecute you. You have to work on yourself - and put away all that anger that you have or nothing of good will come out of it.

No, I don't attack the "regular" homeless people. If I have spare money I give it to them, and some of them have cool things to tell you. And the credit thing= no house renting, I know that sucks, been there. But, to be 100% honest, if I saw a guy who looked like Jesus, in an old van: I'd probably see if you knew where to get some weed, and inquire if you would like to partake in said weed. Plus, I'd let you park your van in my driveway.See? I'm not mean.

Curious...you are no longer homeless I take it. I was homeless as well, but I was blessed not to experience what you did and worked hard to keep from looking homeless or like I was sleeping in my car. I did not have to do it for three years so it was much easier for me. I am troubled that you still seem to harbor ill feelings about what you experienced and that you had hostile encounters. Jesus looked like a peaceful preacher. Is that what you means by looking like Jesus? Many people look like Jesus. People say they see His light in my face and here it in my voice/ conversation. I see homeless everyday. I help them with food donations or monetary donation if I have it. I direct them to locations where they can get food, shelter, employment or temporary assistance. Yes, I would do that for Jesus if I met Him today in the form of a homeless person. May the Lord shine His face upon you, keep you, harden not your heart and let you experience a peace that surpasses all understanding. God bless you and give you favor.

First of all let's get one thing straight, "you" means everyone., i would NEVER attack a unarmed person just for the fun of it. Second, i think you've spend to many years in the streets, you're not making any sense. But i see the business of being a homeless is good for ya, i mean you got a computer with Internet access to communicate with the world. things must be going swell. Stories like this don't work with me, so stop asking for petty, you won't get it here.

Sounds like you think the whole world is against you. Can you say, "persecution complex?"
Get a job like the rest of us. It's spelled w-o-r-k. Stop whining about what happened to you, pick up your jock and wipe the tears off of your face. There are people out there who have it a lot worse than you do. If you can "jump around campsites, rest stops, and Wal-Mart parking lots", then you must have enough energy to work.
So, who's computer are you "borrowing" to waste your time?
There was a guy out there who had both legs and one arm blown off in Vietnam. Did he sit around, crying in his beer about his terrible fortune? No, he ran for Congress, and won the slot. Suck it up, jacka$$. No one here feels sorry for you.

How do you know that you look like Jesus? Do you have lamb's wool for hair? Is that thing true? Are you black or caucasian? or more arabic in appearance? I'm really excited I have never met a person who knew for sure what Jesus looked like and that they looked like him! Will you go to one of those celebrity look alike contests? Can I go?
