These people who answer this question are as dumb as dog crap. Lava does not burn but its molten lava, if it melted from surrounding rocks it would have split the earth in half billions of years ago, also it travels over other rock without affecting them and makes it way to the sea where it turns into actual rock not back to an original form because it was never rock but lava. The question was can rocks burn, not do hot rocks burn you or me or vegetation you dumb asses but can you burn a rock...wow morons.

Yes, if their exposed to enough heat. It probably takes a different amount of heat to burn different rocks.

some can- coal, sulphur, magnesium.. others can melt, but not really burn, I suppose if the temperature is high enough, anything will burn.
