I prefer not to be asked. However, it doesn't have to be sudden (that sounds very violent!). If you get very close and kind of have a moment BEFORE the kiss without saying anything, you will know without asking whether she wants you to kiss her.
If you do it slowly, she won't let you kiss her if she doesn't want you to.

Think about it how embarrassing would it be if a guy asked a girl that...lol If a guy asked me a question like that I would say NO!! just for him asking...lol I would prefer him to just kiss me...if I didn't want 2 be kissed he would definitely know and he probably wouldn't attempt. There is a way of letting someone know if you want to be kiss or not...it's called body language and most people know how to read it....
Good Luck!!

I prefer it to be sudden- why ask? My boyfriend said to me on our first kiss that we were gonna kiss so we might as well, I usually just go and kiss him- I'm a little more forward and louder than he is, he's more reserved. But back to the topic, I prefer kisses to be spontaneous, and sudden kisses can be oh so sweet and weaken you to the knees. kmrelo

I guess it depends on the guy. Sometimes it can be geeky and awkward for the guy to ask, but other times if the guy just goes in for the kiss and you're not ready, you get a weird face bump and that's awkward too. If you're having some flirty banter, I think it's cool to ask for a kiss...but if you're trying to be all suave and romantic, it usually just comes off as cheesy.

It depends on the mood. Sometimes a sudden kiss is just awesome. Especially when it it is a long slow kiss. When my husband holds me tight and looks deep into my eyes and then kisses me, OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!! Well to keep it clean lets just say, I am glad we are already married!

sudden, definitely. only in a non sudden sort of way if u know what I mean - it has to be in the opportune moment so to speak - when the girl is expecting it and is holding her breath wiating to be kissed. Asking would ruin that moment. =) good luck n
if u have time answer some of my q's!

I think it all depends on the situation. Is this a person that I'm already in a relationship with, a friend who has decided he wants to be more than friends or someone that I'm newly dating.
For me there is something romantic about a new date asking to kiss me ... it shows some respect and desire ... he is treating you like someone he respects and wants to be with. Makes my heart flutter just a bit thinking of it ... how romantic!
Now on the other hand if its someone I'm dating ... it might get irritating ...

Well, suddenly is more appropriate for me. I don't know though, some girls might take that as an aggressive move. If they disagree with your suddeness, they will tell you to back of and you say your sorry and your home free. If they were wanting something like that, you'll get a good response. If the chemistry is good, and your getting good vibes and clues, GO FOR IT!

ASK?!!? Nice! I guess it depends on the situation and the people involved. If she has some pretty good self-defense skills and you think she might take it as an assault, then by all means ask! However, in most cases girls, just like guys, like a little spontaniety.
