I'm 47, never been married, no kids, healthy, and love what I do for a living. I meet many women in my line of work but I'm wondering if I'm really able to fall in love, like I did in my20's. I'm with a woman now, we sort of fell into our relationship but "DO YOU LOVE ME" questions keep coming up and I'm not sure what to say. I love her but I'm,not "in love" and I don't wish to hurt here. What should I do?''

I think when you are in your 20's you think you are in love, I think at 47 you would know. AND...if you start out saying, "I love you, but I'm not IN love with you", then there is no question...you are not in love with this person. Is it possible to fall in love at 47, YES, more so now than in your 20's.

You should set her free, and yourself...you WILL find love.

Say the same thing you did here. Put the brakes on this 'relationship' fast before she get hurt. You know she going to get hurt so talk to her know don't drag it out! Women need closing. Yes you can still fall in love a 47 or 57 or 67. You might just not be the type of person to get into this sharing thing. Just find a friend that is female if needed and just be friends confidants and whatever. No strings attached for both of you.

step very carefully here..... Your mind should never overstep your mouth, unfortunately many times the mouth just shoots off and then you think later right?? Take your time and make sure that you are in love with the person, not just love them as a close friend and or relative. As for the other part of the question, dear, millions of people fall in love all the time... My theory, G-d puts us with a person to love deep when he feels we are ready, until then it is just to practice, if you will. WHen you are put in the situation, you will have the blessings of your heart to follow through. hope this helps ya

happy 4th

Be honest with her. The longer you put it off the more hurt it will cause. Why should you not be able to fall in love? I don't think age has anything to do with ones ability to fall in love. Maybe she is just not the right one. If I were her I would want to know how you feel.

I think you should tell her the truth before you have been in the relationship too much longer. Even if you don't love her, you don't want her to get hurt do you?

You're never too old to fall in love. You just need to find the right person.

Good luck to you!

Be completely honest with her about your feelings. It might hurt her right now...and yourself....but man oh man, it sure will hurt a hell of alot more further down the road!!!! Sure, you might eventually fall "in love" with her....but don't bank on that. You don't want that kind of baggage if you are as well off as you say. Healthy, and loving what you do for a living. Don't compromise that. Good luck hon!!!! :)

You shouldn't lead her on if you don't feel that way about her. It's easy to get too comfortable in a relationship, but in reality, you're just wasting both of your time. You should break it off and find someone you really feel "that way" about. She'll be happier if you let her go now than after another ten years that would basically be wasted. Good luck, and go find yourself some true love! : )

Read the Arch of Triumph by Erich Maria Remarque you will understand.

Haven't you heard the answer to the question why are older people more afraid of love? It is because they are more able to fall in love.
