My mom is having surgery so i asked her if there was anything she wanted me to make and out of the blue she asked for the weirdest recipe, campbell's tomato soup bread!?!? She said it was from the 50's or 60's (like one of those recipes on the side of the can). i can't find it online, has anyone ever heard of this????

M'm! M'm! Good! Tomato Cheese Bread
1 loaf French bread, cut in half lengthwise
1 can (11 oz.) Campbell's Tomato Bisque Soup
1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 cup chopped green onions
1 tsp. garlic powder
PLACE bread halves on baking sheet. Bake at 400°F. for 5 min.
MIX soup, cheeses, onions and garlic powder. Spread soup mixture over bread to within 1/4" of edges.
BAKE 5 min. or until cheese melts. Cut into slices.

V-8 Tomato Bread
1 (11 1/2 ounce) can V-8 juice
1 teaspoon olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 cups bread flour
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 dash pepper
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/8 teaspoon dried rosemary
2 1/4 teaspoons yeast
3/4 cup dried tomatoes, chopped to about the size of raisins
In the bread machine pan, place all ingredients (except the dried tomatoes) in the order suggested by the manufacturer.
Use the'basic' bread setting and'light' crust color.
Bake according to your machine directions.
When the machine beeps during the kneading cycle, add the dried tomatoes a few at a time until they are kneaded into the dough.

Grab a can of Campbells soup and call their phone number. I bet they have people that know everything about old recipes.

I dont think it is a bread, rather a cake. I tried it before, very moist cake too, sounds weird but you cant tell its tomato soup.
