I have tried everthing I can think of-- squirt gun, tin foil, double sided tape, noise makers, etc. Nothing makes a big enough impression on her to keep her from jumping right back up there. What else can I try?

Let me first of all respectfully suggest that you not pick your cat up by the scruff of the neck like a mother cat does. That's fine for kittens because they're small and light. "Don't pick up a cat by the scruff of the neck. Only mother cats can do that safely with their kittens." (#1)

Figure out what stimuli your cat does not like. I'm sure you know what makes your kitty run and hide under the bed. For instance, I have a cat who is terrified of plastic grocery bags. If I want him to stop doing something, all I have to do is make a noise with the bag. You have to figure out what your kitty wants to avoid and make him associate it with the counter.

Good luck. My cats are trained off the counter. They are good little soldiers. However, I know for a fact that they hop up there the moment I leave the house. I've seen them peering out the window over the kitchen sink as I pull out of the drive. They look amused.

Its best that they learn not to jump on kitchen counter when they are young. You basically have to tell them no and get them off the kitchen counter. Everytime the cat leaves the counter alone....give it a treat. It should get the point. If it doesnt then try to use your voice and make sure they know you mean your serious. Sometimes they will listen sometimes they wont! Good luck though. I hoped i helped!

hey, maybe it likes the table. jus make it its home place. dont worry, cats always find a comfy place around the house and sticks there for a long time. why not get another room and fill it with toys and make it very comfy. It might want to live it there if its beta. and get a bowl of its fav food, put it under its noes and move it slowly towards its new room, swaying it slowly so it can follow you into the new room and when u go in there put it down and let it explore

water pistol!!! or squirt bottle. if all else fails clear the counter off completly one thing at a time and see whats so interesting. also try getting at catnip laced scraching post and when ever it gets up on the counter scold it and put it near the post. cat nip toys work too. or even just a a dish of catnip. my cats love it i even grow cat nip in my garden for them to roll in. oh also try laying paper aroud the edges of the counter when she try to jump up she will miss cause she will think the paper is part of the counter. had a cat that i had to do this to. cause water didnt help.

get a squirt bottle and fill it with a cheap perfume and water and spray every time she gets on the counter. After she licks herself a couple of times she will stop. This will not harm her. I have used this on mine and it is efficient. When she sees the bottle come out she will behave.

I know this might sound mean, however, when you catch her on the counter, grap her by the neck (like a momma cat picks up her kittens) and turn the water on and get her wet and scold her. I did this three times with my cat and after that, she doesn't jump up there anymore.

I wish I could help but my cats are hopeless miscreants. To CLAYTHORN: If I could give you the ten points I would, Your answer had me laughing so hard I'm crying! Basically you said that you trained your cats but are sure they disobey as soon as you leave as you see them peering out of the window. Well I misread it, and All I have is this vision of your cats "peeing" out the window as though to say "Yeah, they really think they trained us huh? Here I go, I'll pee on the window" And you see it and just blithely drive off. Maybe it's late, but I'm still laughing. Thanks :)

I wish I could help. I used the squirt bottle on my cat and found out that she's one of the only cats out there that loves the water. That didn't help anything.

Wow, if the squirt gun didn't help....have you tried empty soda cans on the edges?

Sounds like this cat may be set in her ways ;) Good luck!

Spray the counter top with bitter apples...This will get any pet off the counter tops...Petsmart has 2 different bottle sizes...It does really work...
