I am a 55 year old male, bald on top and would like to let my hair to grow out again. However, I have noticed that when it reaches a certain length, it begins to look hideous. By hideous, I mean that it sticks out in places where it shouldn't and is practically uncontrollable. What do I do to manage my hair while it is in the process of returning to its previous length? Thanks.

Seek professional help! LOL! Seriously, a great stylist can keep it in shape while it is growing out. You may not like the style, but it won't be hideous in the meantime. Also, your stylist should recommend a styling product for you. Your best bet while it is growing out is to keep it short on the sides while the top is growing out and use some putty or pomade to ruff up the top and give it that "rolled out of bed" look.

Good luck with your styling adventure!

Your worrying too much about it. Forget about what you think is Hideous... and enjoy what god gave you.

Its not as bad as you think! Your freaking out about nothing. Your personality is the only thing that people would notice. Make sure it shines!

Can you handle letting it get long enough for a pony-tail? That would keep it controlled. You didn't say if it is curly or straight but using the right products will help

honsestly, i think you should shave it all off...just a personal preference. but if you really want to grow it i would suggest some kind of hair product like gel or mouse.
