This sounds high to me as well. Unless you are getting everything custom/ hand crafted. I would get at least 5-6 estimates for all of the work. You are remodeling some of the most expensive rooms (bathroom and kitchen) but many people can buy a home for $85,000 in the midwest. But then again, I do not know your financial situation.
From experience, living in a home that is getting completely remodeled is NOT fun. We are remodeling a 107 yr old Victorian by ourselves. I can't believe that any contractor is going to clean up that well after they finish each day to make your home feel clean.
If you are not already I might consult an interior designer. They may be able to offer advice on what materials will match the look and feel that you want and also recommend good contractors.

Wow, yes, I think so.....Beware of some contractors! They will rip you off.
I had a complete remodel of my entire home and it cost me around $45K, this includes labor and materials...
Here is how it went, in the kitchen, refinished kitchen cabinets, new glass tile back splash, new fixtures and all new appilances, stove, dishwasher, microwave, refridgerator. We painted, which also included patching some holes on the ceiling.
In the masterbedroom we painted, added a ceiling lamp and new carpet and refinished the wood floors. We added a shoe closet. We added a whole new bathroom in the master bedroom....It included a jacuzzi tub and two vanities, new toliet, new tile on walls and floor, new shower with glass block tiles and a custom frameless glass shower door....In second bedroom we painted and refinished floors. In second bath we added tile on floors and wall, new tub, new toliet and new vanity. In third bedroom we painted and patched the walls added new ceiling fan. In third bathroom we painted, tiled just the floors and added a new vanity, we kept existing shower stall. In livingroom and den and dinningroom we refinished existing wood floors and painted and patched all the walls.
When I say we, I mean the contractor. We subcontracted the refinishing of the wood floors. But mostly he and his assistant did all the work. It has taken us about 4 months but we are on budget and we have been very happy with the results. This home is 2,700 sq ft, its a good size. He didnt give us an estimate on the whole job, we tackled one job at a time and he gave us estimates per job. That having been said, I live on the border and labor costs are lower then the rest of the country.
I strongly suggest you get multiple bids and tackle one job at a time. Also we saved a lot by finding the materials ourselves and did a lot of price shopping. Have him do one job and if you like his work and his prices continue with the rest. Make sure to get references and see his work on site.

Not knowing the actual area, (sq. ft.) of the bathrooms, kitchen and den, and also the area of countertop, it is difficult to determine an answer to your question. Where you live can also be a factor. However, 83K seems somewhat high if the work isn't specialized/custom and your countertops are less than 500sq. ft. and the color isn't black..

I would definitely check around with a few more contractors. i would even call for references, sometimes the price could make a big difference in the job they perform. i know! getting by cheap may not get the job done right. whoever you go with, ask them for some names and numbers of people they have worked for and find out for yourself how good of a job they will do. that will let you know if the price is to high. good luck!

Hard to say. Depending on where you live the costs for remodeling vary. Also, summers are generally busy times for contractors so their bids tend also to be higher.
you should never make any decisions on such a large project without getting multiple bids from multiple contractors.
I suggest posting your project on servicemagic.com to find other reputable contractors in your area who would be willing to bid on your project.
good luck!

For good remodeling figure about 300.00-500.00 per sq. foot depending on your location.
