I depends on your preference.....usually an eggshell color is best because when you decorate, it compliments just about any style. I would advise on not doing green because green is said to make one feel hungry....therefore you might be eating when you don't want to.

Paint them a light color. I painted my wood cabinets a dark color & now wished I had left well enough alone.

Mahogany is such a dark wood I would go for black or really dark brown cabinets.

If your walls are a dark mahogany colour , I would suggest a lite maple stain,
That should complement the walls nicely,
