why cant we stop having nuclear weapons ?

i really hate nuclear weapons.
they are useless and worthless.
we have to make this world peace.

yea ? my question may be silly.
and my crap english makes it even worse.

i know its hard to live in peace.
and these days we have to live with stupid terrorists. one of my high school mate was killed by terrorists in iraq.
but i hope this world will be better someday.

Because not everyone wants peace. Nuclear weapons are the Pandora's box that cannot be closed now. The world is in a position of where one country will say it wants to destroy them, but since there is never a guarantee that others will follow, they won't for self preservation. It is not the fact countries will use them that makes them a deterant, it is they might and that is a bargaining chip on the world stage.

you hate nuclear weapons? good ever one hates nuclear weapons any and all weapons, but peace is not giving or taken you learn it then you fight to keep it, that is the truth above all things in this world.
so yes hate all weapons but also know that true peace is hard for two reason one that we humans have no clue of the word, 2ND we can't be united for long periods of time.

You're right to hate them, they can be very destructive. The problem is, just supposing a powerful country like the US disarms, that would be inviting our enemies to nuke us.
We all want peace, but it will never happen. There are too many evil people who don't want peace.
Besides, don't fear the country that has hundreds of nukes; fear the country that only needs one.

i wish we can but its a fact of life that we need them there is a thing called mad which means mutually assured distruction it all so stops the the big countries invading the little ones. ie american invading countries like england. if we had no nukes america with its large army cus practically take over the world or china.
